I am going to include our Google review under this note. No one at Fame RV is disputing that
any of these things happened. Brenda B***** has offered us $2,000.00, however it will cost
more than that to repair their damages. (It is also under the condition that we keep our mouths
shut about our experience there.) We don't mind not telling anyone about our horrible
experience with her business, however $2,000 is not enough money to cover the work. The
flooring we have in our living area is no longer made. The flooring will have to be replaced in
the living area, and two bathrooms to match. We need a new kitchen cabinet installed and we
are also asking for the price of two new batteries. We have to move into a hotel room while this
repair happens because we live in our RV full time. This is our home that they so casually
wrecked. I want them to be held accountable.
We have numerous emails from Fame RV apologizing for everything. Unfortunately this does
not help us fix what they have done to our home.
We are asking for $3, 000.00. Brenda B***** has replied on Google that she is trying to work
with us, but that is just not true. I hope you can help us with this ugly situation.
Where to begin?? This was easily the worst experience we have ever had with RV repair. We
left with more problems than we went in with. Fame left parts in our fifth wheel that rolled under
our slides and ripped the flooring up. They dropped the microwave they were replacing on our
stove top and bent it. The same microwave wasn't installed correctly and fell out and cracked
our cabinet. They installed a new toilet in the wrong bathroom. Our slides no longer stay in and
our jacks drop while traveling. We have power issues. We wanted a new AC installed in our
bedroom with heat. Fame didn't have one so they installed what they had in our kitchen!
Instead of working with us, the owner, Dennis, started screaming at my husband, in front of
everyone, threatening to call the police if we didn't pay. They told us to go get our RV ourselves
from out back. Easier said than done. They left everything running when they stored it and our
new batteries were completely dead. No one would do a walk-through. This is our home so we
paid the bill and left. We now have a lawyer. Fame has been unwilling to pay to repair our
flooring. They point the finger at each other, like it makes a difference to us?? This was/is a
nightmare! Trust me on this, you don't want them to touch your RV.Customer Answer

Hi, here is the last email I received from Brenda before she stopped responding.Business Response
Date: 05/01/2023
We at Fame do pride ourselves on selling trailers and good service. We have been in business for 53 years and have always tried to treat people the way we would want to be treated. If you look back in our files we have a very good reputation with the Better Business Bureau. With the *******'s, there was way too much communication going back and forth with ****, her husband ***** and my two service managers Ed and Jen. One day **** would call the next day her husband would call. There was much talk about adding an Air conditioner to their unit. They originally wanted it in the living room. ***** called back said no I want it in the bedroom. Ed said we can do that but it will raise your height of your unit 5 inches. ***** then said no I do not want my unit any higher put it in the living room. It is a brand new A/C. Once they came to pick up they said they never said they wanted the A/C. We are not in business to add items that people do not want nor do we have the time. Items that were fixed:
toilet- we replaced one. They had two bathrooms we replaced the wrong one so we drove two hours to Pittsburgh and replaced the 2nd one at no charge
theater seating- replaced
ceiling panel-fixed
trim-fixed
reading light in bedroom-fixed
door-fixed
solenoid- needed fixed. Actually took off of one of one of our brand new units so they could get on the road-fixed
3 decals-fixed
hydraulic manifold-fixed
microwave replaced- ordered her a new microwave we put it. **** said we bent her back vent on the counter of the stove we did not argue even though we are not sure we did this so we replaced it no questions asked. They took it home it ended up sounding like it had a very loud motor. So we ordered a new one and we again drove two hours to Pittsburgh with two guys and installed it. My service guy did forget to take a bracket off the back so it fell. we took the blame for this and they had a service repair guy come and fix and we paid the bill. We sent her a check she said she didn't get it so we sent another check to pay for this in full.
awning lights-fixed
floor- from the pictures that were sent of the flooring, first there was a pebble in the picture then she put a nut in the picture. Initially we said we would replace it but when we had to go to fix the microwave she said if you come down and fix the microwave you do not have to worry about the floor.
Attached you will see the bill of items that they also had done that were not done under extended warranty. I do admit there were problems but, anything we've done we have solved. Here is bill for the other items totaled $3,554.33 this included all new brake shoes, backing plates city water flange, clean 2 other A/C units, check TV antenna, grease bearings.
They left for Texas in the beginning of November. We have not heard anything from them, except they didn't get their check until now. Now they are telling us their new batteries that they didn't buy from us are bad, the jacks keep falling out of their unit, the slides won't work. We warranty anything we do parts and labor for 90 days. The A/C they are saying is not working, we told them to get it checked it has a two year warranty. She continues to say we sold her a used one. The batteries if they do not hold a charge we told here to go back to the dealer she bought them from and they should be under warranty, she did not get them from us. If the batteries continue to die there is a reason for it probably a power issue that they need to address.
We have tried to work with her. We offered her $2000.00 back because she is still saying she did not want the A/C, so I was giving it to her for free. Now she continues to belittle and degrade us constantly through email, social media, google and now the BBB. We are not bad people. We will admit when we mess up. I feel we have tried to work things out.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Today it got hot enough to try to use the 'new' AC here in Utah. Last time we tried it it kept freezing up, today it doesn't work at all. The fans don't turn on, nothing is working on this used and abused AC unit.
Fame RV was so eager to get rid of this AC unit, they stuck it where we didn't want it just to sell it to us and it doesn't work at all. Brenda B***** tells us no big deal, it's under warranty. We don't expect a brand new unit to need to go for warranty work. It just proves that this was not a new unit. We must have looked like real suckers to the people at Fame RV. Their name should be Shame RV.
I would also like to point out again that we live in our unit full time. We are in the middle of a project and can't just bring our RV in for repairs. Getting a hotel room for us and our dogs isn't super easy. It's just not a possibility. We are so angry for from getting snowed by Fame rv. I hope they can't do this to anyone else in the future. I look at our torn up flooring, cracked cabinet and this useless AC unit and I get so angry. What a terrible business they are running. Rip-off artists, in fact.
Thanks again for your help with this.

That may be true in the past but it is no longer.
We wanted an AC with heat in our bedroom. You can see from our emails that is exactly what we wanted and all we asked for. We wanted them to order a new AC for us, but they said they had one that would work. When it didn't work they just put it somewhere else. We still don't have heat in the bedroom and now we have a broken AC in our kitchen. All of our correspondence was via emails. Feel free to read them. Instead of fixing our problems they point the finger at each other.
Once they came to pick up they said they never said they wanted the A/C. We are not in business to add items that people do not want nor do we have the time. Items that were fixed:
However this is exactly what you did.
toilet- we replaced one. They had two bathrooms we replaced the wrong one so we drove two hours to Pittsburgh and replaced the 2nd one at no charge
Wow, thank you for not charging us for this mistake of yours. Maybe if you had given us a walk through we could have seen it before we left. Fame was so intent on making us pay for the ac, everything else was ignored.
theater seating- replaced
They did not replace our theater seating. They replaced the wrong motor in one seat and then had to go back and switch it out to the correct seat. This would count as a lie.
ceiling panel-fixed
We asked for the ceiling panel to be fixed but they didn't do anything with it. They didn't give us any reason. They just ignored it. This is a lie.
trim-fixed
Yes, we wanted them to fix the trim also, however they ignored this. The trim is not fixed, they did not touch it. This again is a lie.
reading light in bedroom-fixed
True
door-fixed
It took them three times to fix our door. These are the parts they left in the camper that rolled under the slides and tore up our flooring.
solenoid- needed fixed. Actually took off of one of one of our brand new units so they could get on the road-fixed
Yes, they did this the second time we had to bring the camper back because they didn't fix it the first time. We assume they get most of their parts off trailers they have laying around.
3 decals-fixed
I have no idea what she is talking about here. This is another lie.
hydraulic manifold-fixed
Not fixed, still having issues as they are well aware.
microwave replaced- ordered her a new microwave we put it. **** said we bent her back vent on the counter of the stove we did not argue even though we are not sure we did this so we replaced it no questions asked.
When they saw the pictures Ed said the fellows put the microwave on it and bent it. They squished out all the sealant. You can see this in our email correspondence. He also apologizes for it.
They took it home it ended up sounding like it had a very loud motor. So we ordered a new one and we again drove two hours to Pittsburgh with two guys and installed it.
We think they gave us a used microwave too. It was missing parts inside. It sounded like a helicopter when you turned it on. They have the videos and we have plenty of apologies for this also.
My service guy did forget to take a bracket off the back so it fell. we took the blame for this and they had a service repair guy come and fix and we paid the bill. We sent her a check she said she didn't get it so we sent another check to pay for this in full.
Yes, just another example of their work. When the microwave fell out it cracked our cabinet, they are well aware of this but seem to have forgotten to mention it in their reply.
awning lights-fixed
Our awning lights weren't touched. I don't know where she is getting this information from. This is another lie.
floor- from the pictures that were sent of the flooring, first there was a pebble in the picture then she put a nut in the picture. Initially we said we would replace it but when we had to go to fix the microwave she said if you come down and fix the microwave you do not have to worry about the floor.
There were no pebbles in pictures?? Please provide this or apologize for this blatant lie. Ed has apologized profusely for tearing up our flooring. I did say forget about it until we saw how much the flooring would cost to replace. Also they don't make this flooring anymore so we would have to replace the entire camper flooring. Please have Ms B***** produce the picture with the pebble in it. She will not be able to because this is a blatant lie on her part.
Attached you will see the bill of items that they also had done that were not done under extended warranty. I do admit there were problems but, anything we've done we have solved.
If these problems were solved our slides would not still be coming out and our jacks would not still be dropping while driving down the road.
Here is bill for the other items totaled $3,554.33 this included all new brake shoes, backing plates city water flange, clean 2 other A/C units, check TV antenna, grease bearings.
Ed said he forgot to do most of this and apologized. You can see it in our email correspondence.
They left for Texas in the beginning of November. We have not heard anything from them, except they didn't get their check until now.
That is absolutely not true. We contacted them the first time we moved it and the second time we moved it. You can see with our emai
We at Fame do pride ourselves on selling trailers and good service. We have been in business for 53 years and have always tried to treat people the way we would want to be treated. If you look back in our files we have a very good reputation with the Better Business Bureau.
Who would want their flooring torn up and their cabinet broken by a company that will not replace it? Who wants to be treated like that? I'm sure whoever ran this business in the past cared about their customers and that is why they have good standing. They no longer care about the customers or their quality of work. It should be reflected in their BBB rating.
With the *******'s, there was way too much communication going back and forth with ****, her husband ***** and my two service managers Ed and Jen. Once they came to pick up they said they never said they wanted the A/C. We are not in business to add items that people do not want nor do we have the time. Items that were fixed:
However, this is exactly what you did. When the part didn't fit where we wanted it, for the heat, they stuck it somewhere else! We never wanted this AC unit put in our kitchen. This is easily confirmed by our email correspondence. We were pretty surprised to find out they had stuck it on our camper anyway. All our correspondence was done via email. We have heard plenty of apologies and finger pointing from Fame rv. They're pointing the finger at each other. You can confirm this by our email correspondence. Another point is the AC raised the height anyway. They told us if we didn't pay for it we had to pay them to remove the ac. We had already checked out of our hotel and had to just take it.
We have tried to work with her. We offered her $2000.00 back because she is still saying she did not want the A/C, so I was giving it to her for free. Now she continues to belittle and degrade us constantly through email, social media, google and now the BBB. We are not bad people. We will admit when we mess up. Pay for our flooring and cabinet. It's pretty easy to work out. You may not be bad people but you are terrible business folk. We are only telling the absolute truth which can be proven. That is certainly more than you are doing.

I have a problem with Brenda B*****'s response. It is not correct. I would like to add to what people can view when they look up the business. They did not replace our ceiling panel, they did not replace LED lights, they are certainly thinking of another project that they messed up, but it's not ours she is referring to. I sent you emails that show her response is riddled with lies. Where does she address our torn up and wrecked flooring?? I want her to address that directly. Will you please follow up with Ms. B*****. You can't go into somebody's house and destroy their flooring and just pretend it didn't happen. As you can see from our email correspondence, they admit that they wrecked our flooring and have just decided that it's too expensive for them to take care of. We are not a 5 million a year company. We are just people who trusted our RV to them.
Please ask Brenda B***** to address the flooring issue for everyone to see.
Thank you.

Hi, I just read the response from brenda. I have no idea where she is getting this information. We did not have a ceiling panel fixed, we did not have awning lights fixed, we did not have molding fixed. I really don't know what she is talking about. I think she is confusing us with another poor quality job they may have done.
I would like to reply to this in full. Presently I am at work.
Quickly though, they have heard from us in both our moves and I will supply you with all of the emails proving that.
I will also provide you the email asking for an AC unit for our bedroom with heat. All we wanted was heat in our bedroom. I think I spoke with Jen one time. I did speak with Ed a couple of times because there were so many questions about what the heck was going on.
This experience gets worse and worse.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
I was only able to open Brenda's reply one time. I wanted to give a full reply to her rather odd one. I'm sure they used to be a stand-up business 54 years ago. Unfortunately that's not where they are now. They have more and more bad reviews. Honestly I think she's confusing another shoddy job they have done with ours.
We did not have a ceiling panel fixed, we didn't have LED lights fixed or crown molding. I don't know where any of that is coming from??
We moved our camper twice since leaving Fame and have been in contact with them both times through emails. So they most certainly have heard from us. I will provide you with those emails.
I don't recall Brenda mentioning anything about our torn up flooring? Their service tech had no problem admitting they had bent our stove top and they came out to fix it. Unfortunately it's still bent. Nobody get Fame has denied any of their damage except for Brenda who we never actually even met. This is our first dealing with her and it is unfortunate that she is not as truthful as her employees.
How do I get back in here so I can reply in full to this nonsensical reply from fame??
Thank you,
****

One more thing that I would like to clarify. Brenda has offered the $2,000 back for the air conditioning unit. I think that's their way of admitting it is a used, broken unit. She is absolutely refusing to repair the flooring and the cupboard.

Thank you.
We would also like to add we have no idea how much it's going to cost to fix the unwanted AC unit they installed in the wrong spot (kitchen, not bedroom). Like it said in our review, we don't believe this is a new air conditioner. They said they lost all the paperwork. We believe it came off another unit, but we have no proof of that. They can't prove it's a new unit to us. We still don't have heat in our bedroom!
I can provide all the email correspondence and I've attached a couple pictures of our ripped flooring.
Thanks again for your help with this.

Email 3:I spoke too soon, the air conditioner refund check was in today's mail. I wish we weren't still stuck with their broken a/c, but we'll take care of that when we bring it in for new flooring. We'll leave the BBB out of that next issue, don't worry!
In my 53 years this has been, and continues to be, the worst experience I've had with a company. Easily. How they treated our home was completely unacceptable. How they treated us was worse.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Email 2:
Brenda reached out to me to tell me 'the check's in the mail'. She won't tell me where she sent it and we haven't received it. If it doesn't show up in a couple days we want to reopen the case. It doesn't take 2 weeks to send anything a couple States over.

Fame's MO is to not reply, usually. I'm not going to bother trying to get a hold of Brenda and I imagine she will ignore you too.
This is what we have been dealing with. This business is the worst.

I've got to tell you, I'm pretty disturbed knowing that the BBB gives a company that destroyed our flooring, lied to us and sold us a used and broken a/c unit is an a+ business in your books! I think there's no way that you read all our emails back and forth. They fixed the wrong toilet, they fixed the wrong recliner. The whole experience has been and continues to be horrid. I used to believe in the BBB.
I want you to note in our complaint that we still had to take them to court to fix over $6,000 worth of damage the company did.
Word to the wise, if you have a camper this is not the company to bring it to. Don't let the a+ rating fool you.
