Contractor agreed via email to build a porch for the same amount or less than a prior proposal. I forwarded the original proposal, for $3500, including materials list to **** ******* (EEC Contracting). Work done was not what was agreed upon and was very poorly constructed, to the point where I had to pay another contractor over $1000 to rebuild the stairs and replace the stair railing. Pictures are attached showing extremely poor workmanship, as well as a photo of the finished porch after the second contractor fixed the stairs.I paid this contractor over $16,000 for three jobs, none of which were completed as agreed, with the porch being the most egregious. Materials were substandard for the biggest job, which was waterproofing my basement, including rebuilding basement stairs, which were very poorly constructed and left unfinished. On the last day, I approached the contractor with a list of issues. He was argumentative and defensive and only addressed one very minor issue. When I later asked him for a refund, he said he would "make it right" by coming back to repair the porch stairs. As you will see in the photos, the work that was previously completed was so poorly done that I could not allow him to come back and potentially do more damage.Given the stress this has caused and the amount of money I paid this contractor, I feel I am being extremely generous by asking for a full refund for the porch and repairs to the porch by the second contractor.Seeking a refund of $4500 for porch and post-installation repairs by another contractor. He threatened to sue me if I posted negative reviews.

We performed work for ***** on a couple occasions. Always getting paid for the work after it was completed.

***** only put $100 down for deposit and I paid for everything until it was done. ***** inspected  the work and issued me a check 2 weeks after work was complete.

***** reached out to me and said she was unhappy. I offered to immediately come out and fix/replace anything she had in issue with. Told her it would not cost her another dollar. She refused and threatened to leave bad reviews if she didn’t receive a check for $3500 in 10 days.

i also have that message as well.

she only wanted money and threatened to post negative reviews.

i have all of our conversations saved in my messages. We did not speak on the phone at all. Only text messages. I never threatened to sue her in any way shape or form.

we performed all the work and went  over everything with her and she sent me the payment iin the mail 2 weeks after we completed the job. I also added and completed free work. I built a set of steps from her basement to the 1st floor and didn’t charge her materials or labor.

I have all messages and receipts from the job.
my phone is ###-###-#### and my name is Erik C******

i tried to call BBB but says all phone lines are down try again later

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Based on the photos previously submitted, the work was clearly not completed in a professional manner. I refused to have the contractor back to "make it right" because he did such poor work the first time.  I absolutely will not accept his reply and will pursue this with the magistrate and will hire an attorney if needed.  If all I wanted was money, I would have hired an attorney and gotten more than what I am asking for. I feel I am being extremely generous, especially after SEVERAL issues with all three jobs he completed, for which he was paid $16,000.  I have since found and attached the list of items I presented to him on the last day he was at my residence.

Again, please review the photo evidence.

    Regards,

    ***** ********
