  I went to Guthrie in 2021 with unexplained stomach issues that were debilitating to the point I could not go to work. I was sent to a Guthrie gastroenterologist who was on the verge of switching departments so I had a single meeting with her. I was never transferred to a different specialist. I was given one colonoscopy and one endoscopy. Nothing was found. I was tested for celiac which I had been tested for twice before. Everything came back clean. Instead of trying to find the problem or help me regain my life they told me I have IBS which has since been disproven. They gave me a plethora of medication to take daily which I learned later I never shouldve taken long term. I never improved and declined. I moved and had a different doctor for three months who did a full blood panel, tested numerous other factors and found out I had been living with untreated Lyme disease for what seemed to be a long time. I was given two specialists and could always find an open appointment time whenever I needed it. I moved back to ** recently and it has all gone downhill once again. Not only do they fail to correctly run my insurance claims through every time it took two months to get an initial appointment. The doctor ******* do much for me I understand as it was my first apt. I scheduled a second apt for June 28 three months out. They canceled it last minute as the doctor was unavailable. Did not offer to waitlist me for a cancellation. Told me the next opening isnt until august 29th it is horrible to make someone who has been struggling for 5 years with minimal answers 5 months for an appointment. I can move forward with nothing and it effects my life greatly. A majority of the time the office does not appear to even be busy. It is ridiculous to make someone suffer for five months without an apology because of the doctor. They offered me a nurse practitioner. I and many others are tired of being thrown a NP when we are there to speak to a doctor. I hope for any reform at all

  The Guthrie billing department is appalling! I received several different bills for my dental & had to get a loan from my bank. My dentist Lauren Donnelly in the Guthrie Clinic was excellent & trying to restore my teeth so that I could chew my food. At first they had an office in the main hospital at 1 Guthrie Square. The Dept. head at that time was Mary Fawcett. They then moved to another location making it impossible for patients to reach or park a car. So the public had to do all their billing on the phone. I was trying to get an accurate bill & given a false one by Deborah at the front desk with no dates of service or codes. She stated an inaccurate exorbitant amount & was very rude. I called several times trying to get a proper bill so that I could make a payment plan. Mary F. the Dept. head had retired I was told. I then spoke to Vicky (?) who told me she could Fax it at my local Guthrie Clinic & pick it up in about 1/2 an hour. The amount was far less than Deborah at the front Desk.in the Dental Clinic. AAA Aimee Lamphrere helped me discover that AmeriHealth Caritas only p[aid $74.00 for a bill of over #000. UPMC was no better. I had to pay out-of-pocket for basic x-rays & teeth cleaning - yet to be reimbursed since both Medicaid providers policy was to "Delay & Not Pay". I sent this over to the Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphries. Stoll no one got back to me about a payment plan. So I set up my own. $200.00 a month until December 2023 - Total $1000.00. I spoke to Ellen Hodge who referred me to the Supervisor Kristy Comstock who cashed the first check recently! I do not want other good folk to have to go through a similar nightmare please! My rating is a C.

  On Nov 2022 i went to the hospital with dizziness complaints and was put on a gurney in a hallway for 1 hr 15 min and received Iv's for dehydration and a sedative. I was uninsured so i was quickly put in a wheelchair and placed at the front door and told i need to find a ride home despite little improvement. I had to seek care elsewhere the next day. I was billed over $ 2K for poor care and some i never received. I called the billing dept and they offered me a $ 400 discount if i paid with a credit card which i did. Then, 2 months later i received a bill from them for the $ 400 despite showing them a receipt from them i was paid in full. They responded i should not have rec that discount . I'm still rec bills and will soon be in collections....I have contacted the District attorney's office whom said i should not pay it and will contact the hospital...
