    We moved in to our shorten modular home today. They called this afternoon to tell us we owed them an additional $11,000.00. We were not informed of these additional cost during construction. They claim these additional charges are in the contract. They never told us of these additional charges as they came up so we could decide if we wanted to pay the extra costs. They waited to tell us about it the day we moved into the house. They claim all of these extra charges are in the contract. This is a deceptive business practice. Also there are many things that need to be completed and fixed. Once we received the CO none of these are being addressed. We are 71. This is just another scam against the elderly.

    We have had ongoing issues with this customer including up and to this current day. The customer was present nearly every day we were on site as they are retired, and understood hammering was an additional cost (also stated multiple times on their contract). What the customer withheld from their review is we discounted their additional amount owed substantially (the true amount owed was over $17,000). Furthermore, we allowed the customer to move in without paying this amount as stated in their contract. (Also withheld from their review). It wasn't until last week we received the final amount owed. Throughout the Winter and this Spring, the customer has had complaints about numerous items we have never had an issue with in our almost 50 years of business, which to this day strikes us as very odd however we do continue to come out and address these concerns to the best of our ability, even though while there these issues cannot be replicated in real time.We are a reputable company and always put our customers first. This customer has a warranty which we are honoring, however we have never come across a customer who has the amount of superficial issues as this one has had almost a year after moving in, as well as signing a very straight forward contract without reading it to know what their responsibilities as the homeowner are. It is also worth noting we are going back to the customer's home to final grade around their home free of charge - another item explicitly stated as a responsibility of the homeowner in our contract. It is a shame when people do not appreciate the amount of care and willingness to make them happy no matter how hard businesses try.
