I paid the business for a puppy. They charged me an illegal fee for using my debit card of $200.00. I would like a refund of the money I paid them for their illegal fee. They are still currently charging this fee and it is listed on their website. Here are the rules for businesses on charging fees for debit cards: "There's one other limitation you need to consider: You cannot impose a surcharge on prepaid or debit cards; you can only do so on credit cards. Even transactions processed using signature debit (often called "running a card as credit") are still debit and exempt from surcharging. That's because of the restrictions implemented by the ****** Amendment of the ****-************ Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The ****** Amendment specifically deals with debit transactions, including the implementation of a cap on credit card interchange fees.

Sorry for the slow response because consultation was needed.
First, I have been in the Pet Business since 1970 ****** Pet Center.
      Pet Palace since 1990.
Second, Pet Palace did nothing wrong.
If we charged extra for using a card, it would have to be noted by a sign at checkout.
We do not charge extra for using a card.
Enclosed is our Puppy List dated 7-11-23 used by employees to know pricing of all puppies, and is posted on the Kennel Window for customers to see.
Highlighted is "****" the male ******** in question. **** was on Sale and the customer chose their method of payment, not us.
The Full Price of the puppy is sold by Any Method Of Payment Cash, Debit, Credit, Financing
On Sale the puppy is sold by Method Of Payment Debit, Credit, Financing.

We also offer a Cash Price to save the customer more money, and also because we get our money right away and don't have to wait for Credit Card company payment.
Full Price $2999.99 - any method of payment
Card $2199.99 - using any card. Price is $800.00 less than full price.
Cash  $1999.99 – if customer wants to save more money, pay cash – paper money.

If this was explained wrongly (I don't think so), or the customer didn't understand, I apologize. Some customers don't want to go get cash from their bank for whatever their reason.
The above statement is truthful and factual to the best of my knowledge and belief.

      ******* ** *****, President
      Pet Palace, Inc.
