Our Independent builder worked with ICON LEGACY to draw up plans for a home to be delivered to ***************, **. The home was delivered in May of 2024 without incident. On initial inspection by our Independent Builder, a problem with wiring not being fed down into the basement was noted, as well as issues with plumbing and pipes concealed in walls that went nowhere. We did correspond with our Salesperson regarding this and ICON did send someone to correct this issue in a fairly timely manner. As time went on and work progressed, multiple additional problems arose directly related to ICONs poor workmanship, and what we initially discovered was only the tip of the iceberg. The quality of workmanship of the product they delivered was subpar. Multiple problems arose causing us to incur thousands of unanticipated dollars to have our Sub Contractors correct. Kitchen cabinets were hung crooked. Electrical wiring throughout the house was abysmal and required our electrician to troubleshoot and replace shorted out wires and re-wire what was done incorrectly. One has to wonder if the employees used by ICON have any experience or training with the tasks they are hired for. Furthermore, does no one at ICON oversee this work and sign off on it? It would certainly appear not. Their "Mission Statement" is a bunch of untruths and misinformation. My husband and I chose to throw up out hands in dismay and just plow through to get the job done, significantly elevating the cost of the project. This was just easier than having to deal with ICON, the delays and red tape to get these many items resolved as they cropped up. With this being said, we will never be able in good conscious to recommend ICON to our clients, as our careers are in the *********** industry. They clearly are not able to deliver a quality product. Respectfully submitted, ******* and *********************

Hello ****************.Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding your house built by Hallmark Homes **** of ******************** modular systems-built building components manufactured and supplied by Icon Legacy Custom Modular Homes, LLC.Icon is a B2B manufacturer and supplier of custom systems-built modular components. This company is not a builder or developer. Icon does not employ or subcontract builders, dealers or sales agencies, and does not sell any modular components or other building materials directly to the consumer/homebuyer. The Icon customer is the independent builder, Hallmark Homes **** in this case - making you the customer of Hallmark and not of Icon. Having reviewed Hallmarks modular building material order (S#****) and service requests we note the following: 1.Your statement regarding ...wiring being fed to the basement was addressed by ***** service technicians; the independent builder and their subcontractor, the set crew did not feed the wiring through the Icon supplied conduit located inside a wall; the ************ technicians accessed the conduit and as a courtesy to the builder, fed the wiring to the basement 2.************ notes show that there were concerns placed by ******** regarding the design of the stairs; the design of the stairs was approved by a third-party engineering firm, on behalf of the state of **, they were inspected by ************ technicians, and it was confirmed that the stairs were constructed and installed in accordance with RI State building codes 3.************ notes show that there was a countertop shortage of the kitchen island; ************ technicians delivered and installed this countertop 4.Your statements regarding poor workmanship and issues with plumbing and pipes. that went nowhere affecting any portion of the modular components supplied by Icon was never reported to Icon by your builder, Hallmark 5.Your statements regarding any electrical issues were never reported to Icon by your builder, Hallmark; please note that the electrical wiring of modular building components differs from site-built construction, and could potentially be a misunderstanding on the part of an electrician inexperienced with why modular wiring is different 6.Regarding your statement referencing cabinetshung crooked was never shared with Icon by your builder, Hallmark; it is noted that the kitchen base cabinets were installed and blocked up for on-site supplied and installed flooring at the request of Hallmark - failure to install the correct flooring in a timely manner will result in the weight of the cabinets pulling them away from the wall and creating the appearance of them being hung in a crooked manner Did you share the concerns above with your builder, Hallmark Homes, ****?In response to your statement that Icon employees lack ...experience or training... and that no one at Icon oversee(s)... this work - Icon employs many experienced craftsmen and women, most with many years of trade experience in the modular industry, ***** QC staff work with both our production and engineering departments, as well as the outside inspectors to ensure that units are manufactured to standard and are cosmetically ready for shipment to the independent builder All modular components are inspected by staff from a third-party engineering firm at multiple stages during the manufacturing process these inspectors work on behalf of the state of RI and have the responsibility to identify and red tag any deficiency for correction they find. This same third-party engineering firm provided the approved permit plans on behalf of the state of RI.The Independent builders are solely responsible for the permitting, site work, correct installation of modular components onto their foundation, interior and exterior finish work, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) connections and finish, and completion of the project through the issuance of the certificate of occupancy. Icon understands that our customers, the independent builders, have their own business models and that many steps in the new home construction process may be subcontracted out. Independent builders using ***** custom systems-built modular components are responsible for the proper finish of their project(s) in which these components from Icon are used. Icon is not responsible for any damage or injury resulting from use or misuse caused by other parties. Finally, ***** mission statement is not a bunch of untruths and misinformation... At Icon, we constantly strive to provide the highest quality customizable modular systems-built building materials and service to our customers, the independent builder, while caring for our employees, community and industry. Thank you again for sharing your concerns.
