      Service providers are decent. The 1-star review is for the billing/admin. I'm pretty sure that even if you work in the healthcare field, coverage and billing is a nightmare (and as clear as mud). That being said, the folks that work in the billing departments should be able to provide rough estimates on services provided (based on whatever medical codes are being prescribed). Not so, at grand view. The staff at one of their associated branches (Colmar) was basically unreachable/unresponsive. When I finally did get through to someone to try to confirm out of pocket costs for an MRI, I was told that it should just be a copay (maybe $200-300). Fast forward, and I receive a bill for over $1300 (on top of an $80 bill). Called to question the bill, and the woman (who kept hacking and sniffling in my ear) was totally unhelpful. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that one would reach out to me in 48hrs. Here we are, 72hrs later...Hospitals/health care providers are generally difficult to deal with from an admin/billing standpoint, but Grand View definitely falls towards the bottom of the bucket.

      I would give GVH a score of -10 if it was possible.When a loved one is in the hospital, the family is under such stress, constantly looking for answers, the last thing they need is the hospital staff being rude and uncaring when the family calls for information on their loved one, or even getting their phone calls returned. An unfortunate turn of events had my husband going to Grandview Hosp. We live within a mile of *** and that's where the EMTs insisted on taking him. After several operations and being bedridden, he developed some bad bed sores caused by a wound vac on his foot and laying on his back for too long. He was quickly discharged to *************** for further care and rehab. ********* did a thorough skin assessment with pictures to document his condition on his arrival. He was doing fine, more coherent than he was at GVH, but developed a UTI. With my permission he was sent back to ***. Trying to get information or even anyone to call me back is even more difficult. I complained to a nursing supervisor when a nurse kept interrupting me and when I asked her to stop, she hung up on me. I was told to call Patient Relations. I received a conference call yesterday from Patient Relations. Included were a nursing supervisor and a floor supervisor. After going over all my complaints, I was informed of their policy for staff disconnecting a phone call. They made me feel humiliated. The call ended with the Patient Relations woman telling me Well you chose to bring him to Grandview." So much for care and compassion GVH totes to feel towards the patients and their family members.
