My daughter had surgery in June. They sent the 1st bill and we were not aware because it was in her name and she is a minor. The 2nd bill came as a collection notice. My wife contacted the office and told her it needed to be in the parents name. The 3rd bill came with my name on it with Patient Berlynn is 17 years old. A payment was made on 11/26. Today we received a collections letter. THIS IS WRONG. I want it erased out of collections.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am responding to letter from BBB dated December 9, 2024 for complaint ID ********.

When the patient information was entered, the responsible party was not updated in the system. The first statement went out in the patient name not the subscriber/parent name.

Patient was seen in our facility on June 27, 2024. The insurance company made payment on July 17, 2024 and the first statement went out on August 1, 2024. The responsible party was updated to the father and subscriber of the insurance policy. Second statement was mailed September 10, 2024 and third statement was mailed October 1, 2024.

Check mailed from subscriber dated November 24, 2024 was received and deposited on December 2, 2024. The account went to collections on November 18, 2024 before the payment was received. The balance was sent to collections after we had sent three statements and received no payment on account. This balance has since been suspended at the collection agency.

The patient account has been updated with responsible party and the collection balance has been suspended and no further activity will occur from collection agency.

If you should have any further questions, please feel free to call to *****************.
