    I signed up for Hughes net to receive a $300 promotional gift card at the end of three months of service. My intention and what was recommended by Sky Satellite, was for me to try the service and if I was not happy, I could use the $300 gift card toward terminating the service. The $300 gift card never came. Now I am being charged $300 to cancel the service after 8 months. I called Sky Satellite multiple times to find a remedy to the situation. The salesman offered me a remedy "by the end of the week" twice. Each time I called, the salesman would talk in circles and would not offer any reason as to why I did not receive my $300 gift card. I've never received anything in the mail and am now being told I have to abide by the contract I signed woth HughesNet. What seemed to be a win win opportunity for me to decide if I liked the service, I'm now being told I need to pay the $300 termination fee. SKY SATELLITE explained that this had happened to one other "elderly couple" at the same time as me, which he claimed he was trying to get figured out too. I don't beleive sky satellite takes their customers seriously and instead hides behind hughesNet as a third party seller of satellite services. Anything that goes wrong is blamed on HughesNet leaving customers like me and the "elderly" holding the bags. I will decry Sky Satellite of Shelocta, PA to each and everyone I know due to the inexperience and lack of customer support.

    The promotion that was running at the time Mr. ****** ordered the service was a mail in rebate offer that requires the customer to mail in a rebate form along with a copy of 2 months of invoices proving that he is an active customer.  Our salesman made it clear at the time of sale that this is a mail in rebate process requiring action be taken by the customer to redeem.  At the time of being contacted by Mr. ****** he had not redeemed the rebate form and the expiration date of being able to submit the rebate form had passed.  Our sales representative offered to contact HughesNet to try and help Mr ****** to see if there was any way to still receive the rebate, but at the point in time Mr ****** wanted to cancel his service completely. Our sales rep worked with the "elderly couple" and representatives from HughesNet and was able to get the rebate form resubmitted to redeem their gift card. Mr ****** did not give us the opportunity to work to correct the issue, he just said he preferred to cancel and to apply the rebate to the termination.
