We hired JM Drafting and Contracting, LLC in February 2022 to do an addition on our home. In January 2023 Jimmys subcontractors came to demo the top floor. We have two minsiplit units that are 6 years old and cost 5k each to install. We told ***** we wanted to keep these units.I attached photos of our minisplit units that were left uncovered during the first day of demo. When I called ***** to let him know he said "You didn't tell me to cover them" to which I responded that we told him we wanted to keep it and we havent done additions before and he has, and he knew we wanted to keep them, and they should have been covered. He covered them the next day. In June ***** told us to hire an HVAC company to move the units and when we had **** come out they said that the units might not work and probably need to be replaced. I called ***** to tell him this to which he said "he covered them as soon as we asked" and I said yes you did, but they should have been covered right away before demo. I told him to take accountability for his subcontractors because this in no way was our fault. ***** called me that night, June 19th at ****pm to say he would replace the units and he was sorry and they should have been covered. I asked for this in writing to which I never received. Present day, the units have never been cleaned, the project is still not complete, and its almost November. We have no HVAC in our back new addition (with a wall they took out in August to the existing house.) We arent sure if the minisplits upstairs work or not because we believe JM Drafting and Contracting, LLC should pay for the units to be cleaned and if we find out they no longer work they should pay to replace the units, both in a timely manner as its coming up on a year that they were not initially covered. If JM Drafting and Contracting LLC is unable to clean and/or replace our units we would like a refund for them since they were in working order before the demo.
