On Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 6:12 p.m., I texted the phone number of the storage unit for the company to open the access door to the facility remotely. This is how tenants gain access to their storage locker during regular business hours (open until 7 p.m.). The instructions are posted on the side of the building. After several minutes, there was no response. I then called the phone number on the instructions twice, once at 6:14 p.m. and again at 6:16 p.m. I received an answering machine when a live person was supposed to answer. I waited ten additional minutes, and the door never opened. I left for the evening.I keep construction tools in the storage locker and depend on them for the next day's work. Not being able to access my tools cost me a day's wages. On Monday, January 30, 2023, I called "****" from the company, who stated she was a partner and manager of the facility. I mentioned nothing about the lost wages. I wanted nothing from her other than to hear my complaint and perhaps offer an apology with the assurances that it wouldn't happen again. Instead, she was indignant. She said, "If it only happened once, maybe there was an emergency." I explained that this had happened a few times before, but it was the first time I had called to complain. She demanded to know the other times and dates. I told her I didn't have a journal before me. She became argumentative and kept repeating, "When were the other times?", "When were the other times?", "When were the other times?", "When were the other times?" It was as though she was making a mockery out of my complaint.I wasn't going to make an issue out of the lost wages, but now I would like to be refunded the rental charge for ******** It's a minimal price compared to the day's wages I lost.
