Leo H****** & Sons Masonry Restoration Company and I, Janice Smith signed a contract on January 25, 2022 to restore a brick wall collapse on my home. The cost of the job was $27,005 dollars. Completion was set at 3-5 weeks ending early March. I paid a 1/3 deposit of $9000 dollars and he started the work. I paid a second installment of $9000 two weeks later. Mr. H****** at this time alerted me that supply's he ordered consisting of 1 standard window, 2 basement window's, 1 exit basement door, and aluminum siding for 2 bay windows were on backorder. He said wait time would be 3 weeks. Up to this point everything was going well until Mr. H****** until he asked me to break our contract. He asked me to advance him $4000 dollars of the $9000 dollar final balance of our contract. No money was to be paid at this point until after the completion of the full job and if I was satisfied with all of the work according to the terms of our contract. He had always kept his word up to this point so I advanced him. After he got the check he started to break his promises about working and eventually stopped taking my calls as you can see in our texts. He said he had knee surgery in one conversation but assured me his workers would still come to clean up equipment he left on my neighbors property and resume my work. They never showed up. I uploaded a photo of the mess he left there. As of now I have a missing bedroom window and basement windows and I don't have a rear basement exit door- just holes and rain water where the door should be. And also he has not repaired 2 bay windows and installed aluminum siding. I hope that he acquired the necessary building permits. He needs to finish the job or refund me the $4000 advancement I paid him. He should refund the money I paid for the supply's he says are back ordered. This is included in the $18,000 I paid him. I want the receipt and proof that he even ordered it. Its been on back order for 5 months for standard material.
