I paid Warren-Eldred Construction/their owner, Andrew H******** $29,200.00 to put a metal roof on my property.

They finished the roof work on 2-20-2023. The day after I paid him on 2-21-2023 it rained. There was water leaking in multiple areas of the attic, the worst being in the area of the eastern chimney.

I texted the phone number Andrew had been texting me from on 2-22-2023. Andrew did not show up to do the first round of ‘repairs’ until 3-8-2023.

After the first round of repairs the leaking continued around the chimney.

To make matters worse, the water was staining the ceiling below, on the second floor, despite the tarps I had placed in the attic as water was running down a beam & a tarp could not stop the water from running down the beam.

I called Andrew on 3-17-2023 & left a message. On 3-18-2023 Andrew left me a voicemail message asking if he could knock the chimney down in hopes of fixing the problem.

On 3-24-2023 Andrew & his crew showed up, took the chimney down & put metal over the opening where the chimney had been.

I went out of town on 3-28-2023 & when I returned I went up in the attic on 3-31-2023 while it was raining. To my dismay, not only was water leaking near the chimney but also a steady leak a few feet from the chimney as well—a leak that hadn’t been there prior.

At that point my confidence in Andrew’s roofing abilities had deteriorated.

I contacted a construction company for an unrelated job & they referred me to another roofer who charged me $8140.00 to put a rubber roof on the flat area and to fix other errors Andrew had done.

The new roofer also told me the water was not entering from the chimney, as Andrew claimed, but the valley. The roofer stated, “The upper metal roof had a negative slope…” & “…top of valleys were short and open, ridge installed improperly.”

The roofer also stated to me VIA text message, “…the upper flat roof should be replaced with rubber, it actually slopes toward that ridge, holds water there.”
