    I am the president of a non-profit museum in Snow Shoe, PA. Vigilant Security Inc. was in charge of our fire detection system along with security (though the board of directors moved to discontinue security surveillance). In January we discovered our smoke detectors were not functioning and i called Vigilant who claimed to have put in a work order. Months went by and two other phone calls later in June their service people finally came. However they were informed we would not pay the service call because our facility had no fire detection system for six months. Once the service call was complete we discovered they had used batteries we purchased and charged us for those and the whole service call amount. After being irritated about these problems the board agreed to inform Larry M**** (salesman at Vigilant) that we were going to find someone else, which we did. Not one person from Vigilant informed us of buying out our contract for the rest of the year, pay several months of fire protection even though it was not functioning, and pay the service charge which was conveyed to the salesman we would not be paying since we had no services for six months.
