On December 20,2022 at 9:08am my son purchased a pair of crutches for a friend. The friend was unable to use them due to balance issues she has. (The balance issues caused the injury requiring the crutches.) He could not find the receipt & told me that with out it he could only get a store credit. He did not want a store credit because he does not shop there regularly. He continued to look for the receipt. On February 1, 2023 the crutches were still in the car. I asked him if I could take them back & get the store credit. I told him that it was better than nothing. I stopped at the store about 12:15pm. I explained that the person the crutches were bought for could not use them & could I return them. I informed the employee that I did not have a receipt. She asked to look at the price tag. She then told me that they were "old". She said that they were from 2019. I said that I knew for a fact that they were bought just before Christmas. She then asked if my son was a regular customer. I said no. She said that they were old & she could not help me. On February 3, 2023 I realized that the purchase would be on my son's bank statement. I stopped down again at the store around 10:00am. I explained to the employee waiting on me that I did not have a receipt but that I had the bank statement showing the purchase. The lady that spoke to me on the 1st was there & asked to see the crutches. She said that they were used & they could not be returned. I mentioned that my son was told that he could at least get a store credit. The employee who said that they where old & used told me she was the store manager & that no one would have told him that. To summarize, my son was sold merchandise that was three years old & when we tried to return it that was the reason given for not taking them back. Any merchandise that sits around for three years is going to look old & used. They did not say that they had a no return policy, a time limit for returns or only for regular customers.
