************** refinished our inground swimming pool in Sept. 2022. We paid them over $16,000.00. When we opened the pool in May 2023 we discovered a crack in the pool plaster. ********** installed a temporary patch and then returned in October 2023 to repair the crack. They needed to drain and refill the pool to complete the repairs. We closed the pool after they were done. In May 2024 we reopened the pool and discovered discoloration on the pool plaster on the steps and built-in bench. ***** from ********** inspected the pool and said he would need to have the pool plaster manufacturer inspect the pool to determine what the stains were because he did not know the cause of the issue. We waited almost 4 weeks and no one came out to inspect the pool. On July 18th we received an email from ********** stating they "now" know what caused the issue which they attribute to "spot etching" and said we were to blame for the damage. They did not have a manufacturer **** inspect the pool as promised. Their explanation of the damage is incorrect. They said poor water chemistry caused the plaster etching but the damage areas were never under water during the winter months when the pool was closed. Also, ********** ordered and paid for the water used to refill the pool so they would be responsible if the water was not properly balanced. I am still insisting they have a manufacturer **** inspect the pool, as promised so we can discuss all the details face to face versus a quick email response.

I am following up to determine if Coronados has responded to my reply on this complaint. They still have not made arrangements for a plaster manufacturer to come to my home to inspect our swimming pool.

We are writing in response to the complaint filed by **** ***** concerning issues with his pool. We want to clarify that we have consistently addressed and resolved every concern Mr. ***** has raised since the re-plastering of his pool on September 21, 2022. Below is a summary of the issues reported by Mr. ***** and the actions we have taken:

      1. Dust by the Shed (September 23, 2022):
Mr. ***** reported that dust was left near his shed following the re-plastering. We promptly returned to his property and cleaned the area to his satisfaction.

      2. Crack in Shallow End (March 30, 2023):
Mr. ***** notified us of a small crack in the shallow end of his pool. We repaired the crack and, as a goodwill gesture, added a mosaic at no additional cost. Additionally, we refilled the pool with clean water.

      3. Stains in Plaster (June 25, 2024):
Mr. ******* latest concern involves stains in the pool's plaster. Upon inspection, we determined that these stains are caused by spot etching, a condition related to water chemistry. As per our contract, water chemistry is the homeowner's responsibility, and our warranty does not cover issues related to lack or excess of chemicals in the pool.

We have consistently responded to Mr. ******* complaints, providing assistance within the scope of our warranty and contractual obligations. We will include all relevant email correspondence with Mr. ***** regarding his pool issues.

Additionally, we would like to provide documentation and resources explaining spot etching and its causes, as detailed by professionals in the pool industry, such as **** *****.

Please let us know if you need any further information.
