  In April 2021, I was searching for a used *** 750Li and found a 2011 model listed as is at Del Toyota. After nearly being scammed by a NY dealer who tried to double the listing price, I was relieved to deal with a reputable brand like Toyota. I assumed that meant honesty. I was ******** Del Toyota, My father and I met a salesman named ******. I shared my prior experience, and he reassured me this would be different. He disclosed the check engine light was on and said their shop diagnosed it as needing a new catalytic converter a part Id never even heard of. He told me it was a $2K job that gave me pause, but he emphasized it was the "only thing" wrong with the car and that assurance ultimately convinced me to move ********** the finance office, I met *****. Again, I expressed appreciation for their honesty disclosing the 1 issue with the car. He echoed ******, saying they answer to Toyota and must protect the brands reputation.After buying the car, I took it to a *** for a 110-point inspection. The technician said there was a laundry list of problems totaling over $10K. When I brought up the catalytic converter, he explained it might actually be oxygen sensors, a harness, and converters. And that was just the start. A few days later, thick white smoke poured from the exhaust likely valve guide seals, a $15K job.I called Del Toyota and asked for the manager. As soon as I mentioned the issue, he cut me off: The as is car? I explained I was told the only issue was the catalytic converter. He denied anyone said that. I gave ****** and Gradys names. He paused, said hed speak with them, then called back and explicitly said: They never told you anything about a catalytic converter.I was stunned. My father heard it too. But what could I do? The car was as is. Ive since had to pour thousands into repairs. BUYERS BEWARE of Del Toyota. Theyll lie to your face and when you confront them, theyll act like it was never said.

  Unfortunately the car was purchase 4 years ago and this is just now being brought to our attention. If this was a true statement then we would have assumed it would have been brought to us years ago.

  I bought my car on January 13, 2024 at this dealership, they gave me a temporary license plate which expired on 3/12/2024. To this day I have not received my license plate. They never contacted me to say if I had any paperwork missing or something, we communicated with them to ask what is happening with the license plate and they say that everything is fine, the license plate is in process. They also told us it was okay to drive with an expired temp plate, however I asked my friend who is a police officer and he said "NO you would get a fine". Today we contacted them again because on 03/20/24 we sent an email to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJMVC) and they responded to us. the email saying that on the same day 03/20/24 they sent everything back to the dealership, the person who assists us today gets angry and says that the plate arrives on 03/28/24 and that there are two days left for that to happen, he says that we are disrespecting him and hangs up the phone but what is more disrespectful is that they take 3 months to process a plate and never contact the client to inform him if something is happening

  We use a 3rd party vendor to process all out of state title and registration. We received the plates and reg on March 27th 2024. The plates and registration will be overnighted to the customer today.
