Contractor (*************************** from Options in Granite) started renovation of a small building on our property in August 2022 with a promised 4 week project timeline. After a couple weeks of work the effort slowed and we actively tried to get him and his team to complete the project. In December he came to the home and asked my wife for an installment of $23,250 for the next phase and promised to complete the job by the end of January. Since we paid the installment ***** has at first missed every deadline and commitment he made. He has been here for a total of 90 minutes (early April). Once we demanded our money back he at first pleaded for more time and then has gone silent. We have sent dozens of texts (his preferred method of communication) and two certified letters cancelling the contract and asking for a return of the December installment. Again, there has been no response. In addition, Options in Granite had previously done a kitchen renovation for us. We worked through most of the issues, but there was one major error that remains unresolved. The granite for the kitchen called for one type of granite on the exterior countertops and another for the center island. We came home one day to find that the granite was switched in error. The wrong granite was installed on each of the center island and perimeter countertops. ***** promised to fix it but never did. After many, many months we hired another company to replace the granite and we were charged $8,350 for them to do the work to replace the countertops due to the errors by Options in Granite. The contract for the kitchen (for the granite issue), the invoice for the replacement granite and a copy of the $23,250 check paid to Options in Granite for the December 2022 are attached. The contract for the small building attached as 4 individual pages as the scan did not work correctly.
