State police had them tow our vehicle on December 5 at 5:30 am. I have towing coverage on my insurance when I spoke to the owner the December 6th he told me if I gave him $450 cash and the title to the car he wouldn't charge me storage. I told him I wanted to wait and speak to my insurance Co because we have towing coverage, he told me they wouldn't pay it. Well I went to my insurance ******************* with ***** **** and it is covered. The agent then called them and told them she would write a check on the spot if he sent over a itemized invoice. He said he wanted a claim number so she said she would start the process they have the claim number. They are charging me a daily fee and will not let me get my car till they are paid when they could have had a check asap. The owner is calling my son who has nothing to do with this. I have also contacted the state police in regards to this issue. JCS is being very unprofessional my insurance is going to pay them I just want my car out of there. They have jacked the bill up tremendously since my first call to them this morning. My insurance was willing to give them the $450 bucks. I'm at a loss here and hope you can help me resolve this situation asap. I am also getting a call back from the State Trooper that handles the towing companies so they know the poor and unprofessional business practice! Thank you for your time *************************

    Business Response

    Date: 01/12/2023

This email is in response to the email we received concerning a customer complaint.

In this case, I personally spoke with customer and their insurance agent. The customer was reporting a roadside tow to their insurance agent, not reporting it as an accident. They did not have the appropriate coverage for any accident.

The customer insisted that they had coverage and that the agent would pay, but this was not just a simple tow. The vehicle had the front driver’s side tire and wheel ripped off vehicle. Vehicle has also collided and severely damaged the guard rail in the median of the highway on RT 15 southbound.

Customers insurance agent told the customer that they could pay out of pocket to get their vehicle released from impound and could try to be reimbursed from State Farm.

Customer called to set up a time for them to pickup their vehicle and pay by check. I offered to meet her at one of our other offices, as to try to lessen the inconvenience for customer. She declined and insisted she go to our impound lot to pay for it.

I did inform customer that not all of our employees have access to the impound yard keys, as to avoid any confusion or issues for customers, insurance, and our company.

When **** discovered that their insurance would in fact not pay the bill, he approved giving them a hefty discount to help ease financial strain for customer.

Also, the customers son had reached out to **** asking him if our company had towed customers vehicle. **** told him yes we had, and customers son continued to message ****.

Customer stated that they were debating scrapping the vehicle and would be having someone pick up the vehicle from our impound yard. Said person being someone who scraps cars frequently, and does do business with our company, and that he would be picking it up from our trout run location. We had advised customer if they wanted to pay to get the car out and have the scrapper come to the lot to pick up the vehicle, that they could leave the title with us so it was there when the scrapper would get the car. We did not demand the title, we offered a suggestion trying to help the convenience of this for the customer.

The customer did only pay $450.00 out of pocket due to the generosity of John by offering them a significant price cut to help customer.
