I am not liable for this debt with Eastern Revenue. I do not have a contract with Penn State University, they did not provide me with the original contract as requested.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
My name is ***** ******** and I submitted a dispute with Penn State university and the creditor is Eastern Revenue. The Complaint number is #********. I just wanted to give you a background on everything. College has been a huge financial struggle for me especially that my family brings in no income. I decided to drop out and do something else with my life. I've loved cyber security and wanted to take my knowledge to the Air Force. I spoke with someone there and I found that I have a collection statement on my record. Penn State gave me no time to create a payment plan. I also want to mention that I have no contract with ***************. If I want to serve my country and make everyone proud, this should be removed immediately. I am disappointed that something like this would prevent me from serving active duty.
I appreciate your time and help.
Thank you,
***** ********Business Response

Student has a balance with Penn State from the fall of 2023 at the World Campus. We had reached out to student several times, speaking with the student on 2/19/2024 and 5/6/2024. We advised the student that he would need to sign up for a partial payment agreement or his account would be assigned to a licensed collection agency. Student did not sign up for the partial payment agreement in the required timeframe even after an extension was granted. After several system generated emails, his account was assigned to ************************** agency on 7/11/2024. I attached the student's financial responsibility agreement for the fall of 2023 semester where he agreed to pay this balance as well as agreeing to the collection agency, agency fees and credit reporting. Student can contact our office at ************ option 5, if he has further questions.Initial Complaint

PSU offered free tickets for military members on October 28. 2023. You had to go to their website at noon. The web site crashed. Second year in a row myself and other veterans are denied free tickets, yes, first come first served, how can you get tickets if web site crashed?Initial Complaint

Penn State university is charging me for a parent plus loan my father has taken out because that is the only secure loan used by my father ***** **** ***** who is responsible according to their contract in 2015-2016 year. I dropped out and my father was sick and later passed away in 2017, I never attended Pennstate in may 2017, or ever signed for a secure loan. When I attended Pennstate in 2015 I also worked while I was a student, which is why they have my social security number. I didn’t authorize them to use my social for any loans. Pennstate failed to present the signed secure loan /parent plus loan. I also never paid anything on this fraudulent account, so they falsely reported that I paid 51% In order to hurt my account and show an open status on my credit report. Pennstate have falsified origination dates, and payments that were never paid because I did not accept accountability for the loan because it isn’t mine. The only loans I signed for was Federal government student loans with Fafsa and Pheaa, not Pennstate. It has been 8 years since I’ve attended Pennstate in 2015 year so it shouldn’t legally be able to be on anyone’s credit. I dropped out of Pennstate beginning 2016 at the drop-add period because I couldn’t afford it anymore and I need to be closer to help my father because he was sick and later passed in January 2017. So it’s impossible for him to have signed a loan in may 2017. I attended the closest college which was community college of Philadelphia later 2016-2017, so it’s impossible to do both with my federal student loans. This account belong to my father and or is fraud. The credit reporting is also falsified and inaccurate and doesn’t make any sense. Pennstate refuse to remove it. My federal student loans “U.S Department of education” and in good standing since 2015 when I attended Pennstate and paid them government loans that I am also paying back in good standing with my loan servicer. Pennstate false report on my credit is attachedBusiness Response

Received a notice that I have a collection from PENN STATE on my credit report. It says it was opened on 05/28/2020 for $11,577 with account number starting in ********* that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the FCRA and FDCPA. I would like for this collection to be removed asap or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.Business Response

I am replying to the attached Better Business Bureau complaint. The disputed amount is from her attendance at the Penn State World Campus in the spring of 2019. I attached her view customer accounts (account statement) which shows an original balance of $7297.00 tuition,$252.00 Information Tech fee and $20.00 re-Enrollment fee. There are monthly late fees (1.5% per month) and the balance transferred to our office on 5/28/2020 with a balance of $8,914.85. This balance is currently assigned to a collection agency (Reliant Capital Solutions). The collection agencies are $2,662.88 for a total balance of $11,577.73.
I also attached her signed Financial Responsibility Agreement for the spring of 2019, where she agreed to pay the balance, with adjustments, 1.5% monthly late fees, collection agency fees up to 30% and credit reporting.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Mark
