    On 3/11/2024 ******* (roofer) inspected my roof and stated that it was in need of complete repair. on 3/12/2024 he sent an invoice with the price of $11,750 for the cost of a new roof, he was paid a deposit of $7,050 via Certified check. He did not finish the roof until 4/17/24 at which time he was paid the balance owed ($4,700 via certified check) and due to the lack of craftsmanship I asked for before and after pictures (on 5/8/24)which he could not provide. When the roof was inspected it was proven that he did not remove or replace any of the original decking, insulation, or shingles (as listed in the contract). He instead installed new singles over the existing shingles and added tar around the roof where he was contracted to install flashing around the chimney. I would like to have a full refund to pay a new roofer to properly complete the roof replacement. Unfortunately, the cost of a new roof will increase because, the new roofer will need to remove two layers of singles as a result of the original roofer's failure to provide the services he listed in the contract that he proposed. This is theft by deception.

    We did install all new architectural shingles to the whole roof there was no decking that was need  and by code the roof did not have to be stripped as there was only one layer of original shingles there is a 25 year warranty on the roofing material and a ******************************************************************************************* faulty material then we will make make necessary repairs to correct a problem under our warranty

    I am rejecting this response because:
      I was charged $11,750 for the removal of old shingles, decking, plywood and the application of flashing around the chimney (not done), application of new shingles, decking, and plywood. If the contractor stated that I did not need new decking why would that be listen in the contract and paid for? This is theft by deception.
