      My appliances either stopped working or are damaged from day 1. My windows and doors are scratched and dented and look like bargain bin seconds. My smoke detector does not work. I am missing a light in Dinning room and have fixture hanging in bathroom. They have said they will make repairs but have been waiting a year. The workmanship in the house is subpar at best.

      I am very sorry Ms. ****** is unhappy with her Commodore Home.  Every Commodore home comes with a 1 year warranty from Commodore.  Ms. ****** has spoken to Riverview's service manager and, I am told, is aware that part needed from ********* are on order to fix the warranty items.  She has also been told that the appliances and smoke detectors are covered by a separate warranty issued by the specific appliance manufacturer not Commodore Homes nor Riverview Homes.  This home was ordered by the customer and built by Commodore.  The type of dining room light, as well as dozens of other specific standard and optional features, is listed on the Commodore confirmations and standard features both of which the customer would have signed and gone over.  To the best of my knowledge she received the dining room light that was ordered.  When Riverview receives the required parts, we will run the warranty service.

      October 2023: We started the process by putting down an initial deposit.November 2023 February 2024: Choosing finishes for the house was an incredibly slow process. Every time we contacted them, it took weeks to get a response. Our finish selections werent finalized until February 2024.April 2024: After a further two months, Riverview finally scheduled our closing meeting and placed the order for the house. So, from October 2023 to April 2024.June 2024: The house was delivered to Riverviews lot, but despite the fact that our site was ready and prepped, the house wasnt delivered to our lot until a full month later.July 2024: When the house was finally delivered, we were told it would be move-in ready in a couple of weeks. While Riverviews crew managed to finish the exterior and some basic interior work within a week, everything came to a screeching halt when they brought in a subcontractor to finish the rest.August September 2024: The subcontractor they brought in had never worked for Riverview before and made a complete mess of the finishing work. When we notified Riverview about the mistakes, they came out, ripped off the trim, stairwell railings, and carpets, and ordered new parts. But when these parts came in, they sat at Riverviews warehouse for over a month with no work being done.October 2024: When the railing finally arrived, it was missing pieces. Riverviews employee didnt even notice until five days later. Then, it took them another week to order the missing pieces. The railing had to be ordered and reordered three times due to their complete lack of organization.November 2024: A month and a half later, another subcontractor was hired. But halfway through his work, they pulled him off to complete another job for Riverview. They then hired a third subcontractor to finish the remaining work, but he only managed to complete the trim and carpet. Riverviews crew finally returned to finish the job over a year after we started the process.

      Everyone at Riverview Homes, **** is sorry that the ******** had a less than exceptional experience with the purchase and construction of your new home.   Although not always possible, it is our goal to always go above and beyond to end with a satisfied outcome.  We know we are not perfect, but our entire team continues to strive to reach that goal.

      Although we would disagree with some of your comments written, Mr. ****** is  in stating that we had a subcontractor that did subpar work.  We acknowledged that work was not satisfactory and immediately began the process to repair the work.  He is also correct that we struggled to be able to receive the necessary parts to repair the work.  Once the final parts were all received, the contracted work was completed in two days.  We regret the customer is unhappy with the timeline of the project. We have seen the photos of the finished home and believe that the customer has received a fabulous product in the end.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      Repair work did not begin immediately. Riverview's crew showed up to rip out the work the subcontractor did, but no one showed up after that for over a month. There were issues on Riverview's end that prevented them from getting the parts to complete the work. They were unaware parts were not ordered and when they were ordered they were unaware again that they were incorrect. Riverview caused delays in excess of 2 months. I would like the purchase price of the home to be adjusted for the delays and lack of communication and organization on their part.

      We admit to delays.  These delays were necessary to finish the house as ordered and to make corrections that neither *** nor the home buyer would have been satisfied with.  Delays are an unfortunate part of home construction.  There was no purposeful action by *** or any of its suppliers to cause delays to to extend any delay longer than necessary.  We are sorry for the delays that happened and the inconvenience that it caused.  Riverview's contract does not make any specific guarantees of time frames, in fact it goes to length to warn that delays are likely.
