      I recently was sent to collections for $249.20 by this company as they were charging me for services never rendered. We received an invoice after we cancelled our alarm service for $240 for an emergency call and a cancelled-on arrival. I spoke to a company representative, *******, when I called to dispute and she stated that the service provider said that they showed up to the appointment and that I wouldn't let them in the house which was completely false. She also stated that it was their word against mine. Service appointment was scheduled for September 28 at 11:30am. This was scheduled because we had all of our fire alarms go off on Sept 18 and the alarm company never called and no one was ever dispatched to our house. It took the service company over 1.5 weeks to schedule an appointment. At 12:00pm on Sept 28 (I have sent the company a screen shot of my phone log) when the technician had still not arrived for an 11:30 appointment I called ************ and the woman I spoke to told me the technician was running late and that I would be charged for this service call and that I needed to sign new paperwork/contract as we had not signed anything since 2015. When I told her that no one ever told me there was a charge for someone coming out to look at our alarm because it wasn't working properly, she told me "oh someone should have told you". And I also explained that no one had told me that I needed to sign a new contract. At this point after 3 minutes of conversation I told her I was not comfortable with the company not informing me and I wanted to cancel the appointment. She OK and that she would call the technician. No technician ever arrived and I never turned anyone away. On Oct 6th I cancelled our service completely as I was so uncomfortable with the entire situation. I was told at the time of cancellation that the only amount due was $9.20. After receiving a bill for $249.20 I contacted the company to dispute and never got a response or another bill.

      I notified the alarm service provider in May 2021 that I wanted to discontinue monitoring services; however, they continued to bill me. If the provider check their records, they will observe where there hasn't been monitoring at the residence for a few years. My debit card was not updated with the company around September 2021; however, they are continuing to harass me regarding making payments. I request that they stop the harassment and refund me $ 639.20 for billing me when I no longer had monitoring at my residence.

      To Whom It May Concern,

      We spoke to *** ******** on October 11, 2022 when his credit card declined.  *** ******** told our rep at that time that he was not sure if he wanted to keep the alarm services.  He didn't want to talk to our cancellation team at that time and hung up.

      We spoke to *** ******** on November 7, 2022 and he said he wanted to cancel the services, but would not give a reason, and was transferred to our cancellation team that told him to send in written cancellation as per the terms in the enclosed agreement.  

      To date we have not received a written/e-mail cancellation from *** ********.  We are a security company and cannot cancel an account without this written notice.  

      There is no refund due to the customer, but we will not charge him for anything from October 2022 on if we receive the written cancellation notice.

      We will reach out to him again and get the proper cancellation request and get this matter resolved.

      I am rejecting this response because: I am disputing the business response because the alarm service was cancelled approximately two years ago.  The company's response failed to disclose that the system has been offline for approximately two years.  A professional alarm monitoring service would be able to confirm this information during system checks and identify that there has not been any monitoring at the location for approximately two years.  Without the company providing a monitoring report, they cannot substantiate there claim that I still have an active service.  The representative also threatened to charge me for one year if the service was cancelled which is not stipulated in the signed contract that was emailed to me and also attached to the BBB response.  The failure in the company resolving this matter though BBB intervention will result in me contacting the SC Secretary of State to investigate the fact that funds were being drafted from my banking account without the system being online at the property.
