FTC v. Empire Holdings Group d/b/a ECommerce Empire Builders et al
On May 8, 2025, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of PA entered a Stipulated Order for Permanent Injunction, Monetary Judgment and Other Relief to resolve a Complaint brought by the Federal trade Commission against this business and its owner. The Order resolves allegations by the Federal Trade Commission that the company and its owner, Peter Prusinowski, sold training opportunities and website store fronts to consumers with the expectation that the consumers would earn $10,000 per month in profits from their online businesses. The FTC complaint alleged that the promised profits were not met. While admitting no wrongdoing, the company and its owner agreed to a Permanent Injunction barring the business and its owner from selling business opportunities in the future, making promised earnings claims without proof of their potential, not enforce any contract restricting consumers from reviewing and reporting their experiences with their business and turning over assets to be used to provide refunds to consumers. The court's Stipulated Order suspends, for the defendants' inability to pay, part of a monetary judgment in the amount of $9,786,124.
