    We spent an hour driving to this place for an eye exam. The business confirmed ahead of time that the insurance was all good, and that it can be billed, and all is well.After a 50 mile round trip we got there early, and then we were stunned to be denied service unless we paid cash. The business apologized for their mistake, and then said nothing more. No offer to make it right. No offer to do the exam and take financial responsibility for this mistake. They thought it was acceptable for us to just walk out with nothing after they confirmed the insurance prior to the appointment.The explanation from them was, "Sorry, we don't actually take your insurance and self pay is 250+ dollars. Our mistake." That's stunning. I asked them, "You're going to at least pay me for 50 miles, right?" And they said they'll see what they can do, it's not customarilly done." I said, "Great, I'm confident you'll find a way. If not the Consumer Protection Bureau can help you with that." Unbelievable.
