01/06/2023: Bought a PDC Swim Spa from the dealer recommended on their site (******** ******* *** **** * ****. St. George UT). Later I discovered that ******** is not a licensed business in Nevada. Spa was installed in 06/2023. On 8/2023 I was informed by an ******** employee to turn the power off for the spa or risk being electrocuted. A drain was not installed in the concrete vault, my spa was sitting in a minimum of 5' of water. I contacted PDC support and they directed me to the link that listed the rules of recessed installations. Out of the 9 items listed, ******** failed on 7. ******** states that this is not their fault. I reached out to *** **** and he sent me a certified letter telling me to turn the power off. Neither PDC or ******** will address my issues. PDC states that they train all of their distributers but will not provide me any documentation that shows ******** attended any training. Now I have a spa that I cannot turn the electricity on and has lost all of its' warranty. PDC is telling me that ******** should be responsible to fix the issues but they are not licensed in Nevada. As of today, 10/2023, I have no working spa. If I can get a new spa, with full warranty, I will hire Nevada professionals to install it. I also want the existing spa removed.

************* purchased a PDC Swim Spa through an independent retailer, ******** ******* *** **** *** **** **** in St. George Utah.  The PDC Spa service department was contacted by **** **** in September of 2023 about water in the bottom of the vault that her swim spa is installed in.  During that call the technician on the phone advised her to discontinue use of the swim spa and turn the power off at the main breaker.  This was done due to the possibility of electrocution.  PDC then sent her a certified letter, which I have attached here, advising her the same.  The letter also made her aware that if the installation was not corrected it would lead to her warranty being voided.

PDC Spas is an OEM of spas and swim spas and does not design or implement any aspects of their installation.  This is done between the customer, the retailer, and whomever is performing the work (if not the retailer), at the customer’s location.  PDC does have a delivery and installation guide that is available on our website for anyone to review, both retailers and customers alike.  If there are issues as **** **** attests, they need to be identified and corrected by the parties that performed that scope or work, which was not PDC Spas.  This has been communicated to **** **** both over the phone and in writing.

The swim spa is not the issue at hand the issue at hand is how the swim spa was installed.  If the installation is not corrected the same thing will happen to another swim spa installed in the same manner.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I used this retailer based upon the link that your website for find the closest dealer  and only one choice came up.  Later to discover that the referred business did not have a license.  Apparently they do not vet their retailers

PDCs website states that they train all of their recommended retailers, they do not.  I asked for documentation showing the that the training was done, received nothing.  After my issues, they removed the retailer as a recommended dealer.

For a $43,000.00 purchase I would have thought that PDC would have provided some type of customer support.  Instead, they refer me back to the company that no longer wants to deal with me due to my issues.

I would rate them with 0 stars

    Regards,
