Cooper Township Municipal Authority is charging us fees that they cannot provide evidence of as to why we are receiving these charges. They have no stated they are getting their attorney's involved. We moved into ******************, on May 31st. The tap on for sewer was still at the location. The previous owners surrender the water and sewer when they left 2 years ago. Per CTMA, at that time they should have come to the location and removed the tap in pipe. Which they did not. They are now refusing us service because we need to pay the $1,800 tap on fee. The tap has not been removed and is still here. We simply need an account. We have tried to pay numerous times to which they have declined. We asked to see their meeting minutes and/or bylaws indicating how they can conduct business this way. That was one week ago. As of today, *** from CTMA states they cannot find the information. *** stated they have lost $680 from the service being turned off at this location. We have offered to pay the $680 to which they have declined. We aren't the only ones in the township that has endured numerous billing errors and service errors with CTMA. There is currently an investigation being conducted for approximately $40K missing from their funds. We don't want lawyers involved, we simply what to stand up for what's right. We told them if they could show us the procedure of why we need to pay the tap on fee again, we would pay. They have not been able to produce the documentation. We have tried contacting our local township supervisors for assistance to no avail; we have reached out to our state representative with no resolution. We have tried to work directly with CTMA with no resolution.
