On 8-22-22 Melvin H*** *f Cutting Edge Landscape And Handyman Services was hired to perform the labor to install 2 bathrooms at a home we're renovating at *** ****** ******* At first he was good, showing up daily and demoing the first bathroom (75% of the demo was already performed by myself). After a week or two on the job he abruptly quit showing up and told me his relative (or girlfriend's relative) had died. He then asked me for $500 to help with the arrangements - which I gave him. He would sporatically show up to perform small tasks but then he didn't show up for over 2 weeks again - this time telling me his girlfriend's grandmother had passed away (this was true). After returning to the job after the arrangements were complete his girlfriend (Amanda, owner of the company) worked for several weeks and made some progress. He told me the job would take him 2 weeks to complete - we're now at 2 months and both of my bathrooms are torn apart and the home is unlivable. After Amanda demanded more money today I told them to leave the job and not to return. I paid a total of $5800+ plus materials and have very little to show other than a complete mess. I paid an initial down payment of $3800, plus another $500, plus $640 in Venmo payments and plus another check for $750 last week - I checked my cameras and he worked a total of 15 hours last week. I have tried to be fair and understanding with them to no avail. Amanda would constantly blame material delays (which I always ordered when they'd ask), wrong materials (which they instructed me to order), and weather.

I have over 34 pages of text messages stating as of 10/23/22 I was still waiting on materials that ** ****** believes to be no big deal and as he stated we were hired for labor basic pull out and install.   Not removing walls and repairing them,. Not to be a pick up, loader and unloader of materials let alone no be reimbursed for them.  And we can add harassment since he feels the need to show up to my home and personal write a letter and leave it in my door for me to get coming home from hospice after the day.  Let alone the fact he also stated he monitors my employees hours.  I cannot afford to pay someone to "watch paint dry" or wait on materials that were to be there.  All this adds up and when I asked to be reimbursed he stated he didn't feel work was done in a timely manner.  I cannot put a puzzle together without all the pieces!!!   I want this to be over with I'm a woman trying to make it in a man's world I just want clothes on my kids'backs and food on the table.    I never not wanted to finish the job didn't have all the pieces. And I have all the messages and personal write letter.   So what can I do to fix this.   Out of the 15+ customer's I've had this is the only complaint I have received.    Thank you.
