Back in April we had one of ValueGuard team members to do our home inspection at **********************. We were initially happy with his professionalism. He spent several hours at the home so we assumed the inspection was thorough. Unfortunately, since we entered to live in the house in September we had nothing but problems. The most concerning: our heat system does not work properly. We've had several HVAC professional technicians to look and repair the heat and with no exception they have repeatedly said: "This house is poorly constructed", "The materials used are bad". "The design is really bad". We're very frustrated that ValueGuard home inspector failed to tell us this. If the home inspector said "this is poorly constructed, bad materials and the design is bad" we would have had second thoughts about buying this house. Instead, the home inspector made some recommendations in the report (such as inspecting the cracks on the roof, which we did). The inspector completely missed to report any issues with the heating system, and the design of this system is very bad and inefficient according to HVAC professionals who visited the house. The problem with the heat is yet to be resolved and it's cost us over $1000 by now. The inspector told us that the house was in perfect condition and he only had to write those things in the report to satisfy his bosses. He said we could be sure that we were buying a house in great condition. We trusted the inspector's words. We saw there is another review in ****** explaining a similar situation where the inspector wrote in the report several things but told the prospective buyers not to worry, and later they dealt with many issues that cost them a good amount of money. Just like us. We feel like we wasted our money on ValueGuard as we feel like the poor and bad design and materials used in the house should have been obvious to an experienced home inspector and communicated to us in the written report and in person.
