Intake staff was extremely unprofessional and uncaring. They traumatized me far beyond the trauma I was seeking help for. No options remain.

The staff at The Ranch PA are great, but they are obviously overworked and underpaid. The parent company, Promises Behavioral Health, does not give the place the support it needs to function well. When I was financially discharged from their care, my aftercare plan was for a program that had not existed in over two years. I was not able to meet with my primary therapist until my 6th day of treatment despite begging staff for my initial appointment. I was only able to meet the psychiatrist twice during my 3 week stay, and it was for 15-20 minutes each time; only my vitals were checked and canned surveys completed. The best parts about The Ranch are the community support from the other clients and interacting with them. The food and Chef Riley are outstanding. Kitchen staff was amazing.

Despite these challenges, I was able to make the most of my time there and stay healthy. Now I am having a nightmare dealing with Billing. Insurance was billed over $40,000; we also had to give them $5,000+ up front. Billing Department required me to email and call for days in a row before even acknowledging my communication. Billing is providing contradicting information and refusing to communicate thoughtfully.

I wish I stayed somewhere that was not owned by a large corporation like Promises Behavioral Health. The only good thing about Promises is how they fund their alumni events for past clients, but I guarantee this is simply a marketing technique designed to bring clients back to their services if a slip-up or episode occurs. Statistics show that the majority of folks will relapse after treatment, so they make sure the relationship is still there.

Highly suggest a facility not owned by Promises Behavioral Health until they hire more staff and pay the current staff a decent wage.
