Donovan LLC was contracted to finish our basement in Dec 2022. *********************** owns Donovan LLC and has signed the contract. The work was promised to be complete by March 2023 in the contract. The work started but there were lot of delays, mostly from Donovan; and there was no response when we reached out to **** on multiple occasions. His contractors came to complete the work in between but it was halted again. We have tried to reach **** multiple times but only few times he would respond in text or on a call. We have paid all the monies on time. The framing, sheetrock, flooring, and some electrical work is done, but there is a lot of work pending. We have not been able to use the basement for over a year now (like we used even when it wasn't finished for storage, gym, recreation). In Jan 2024, we received an email from **** stating he is cancelling the contract. Since this is a legal contract signed by both the parties, **** alone has no right to cancel the contract on his own.We do not agree canceling the contract. **** should either complete the work as soon as possible OR he should refund all of our hard earned money back to us soon.
