This company quoted a job for me for ****** which included roofing and siding. I was going to gain a significant r-factor by insulating my exterior walls and roof. After they removed the old clapboard, they told me there were no slats or empty spaces to insulate. They even told me the R-5 Tyvak on the quote would be too thick due to my windows. Then, after removing slate from my roof, they stated that there was no slats or empty space to insulate there, either. I was looking for rebates, and now I had nothing. Even though they had checked the house in advance, they got this all wrong. The reason I chose to do this work was entirely to insulate, and I gave the 20k of the 30k and lost actual r-value. They did put a thin foil wrap on the house, claiming that it was a great product with a 6+ r-factor, but it was actually only 1.9. The other number was for an enclosed space "system". When I pointed this out (after researching) they basically ignored me.Additionally, they said removing slate was very very expensive because of the disposal. I told them they could spread it under my two big porches. Later, they gave me $150 credit for this big savings. They also upcharged me for two areas, claiming in one case that they would be squaring off a sagging deck. I paid $750 and nothing changed on the deck at all. Finally, they crumbled my sidewalk. My quotes to replace are upwards of $4K. I now have a leak on my third floor ceiling. My front porch leaks and runs through the exterior lights. They put asphalt scraps under my porch.

Hired GoodDiehls to complete a deck for our new pool. They have installed damaged products (railings) and have damaged our pool and parts of the deck and they are refusing to fix/replace what they damaged unless I pay them more. They took our money and will not complete the work so now I am without a safe deck that keeps people out because it is not complete and I am unable to get my pool inspected without this being done. They have also been using pictures of my backyard to advertise their work and I have asked them to remove this and they continue to use our property as advertisement.I am also looking for an Attorney in the York area that assist consumers with this type of fraud as I do not feel they should be conducting a business as they continue reaching out to people on social media to get more work but cannot finish this project that started in August.

We have reworked the framing to the deck that was already there to fit the new pool. Also installed the decking for the area. After discussing the options for railing that would comply with the local codes the customer chose a style and we ordered it to be custom made. We installed half of the rail when we were told she didnt like the style of it. There are small scratches in some of the black paint on the aluminum rail. This is common during shipping and is usually touched up with paint from the factory after installation. We had discussed installing a different style fence if she could find one that she liked.

There are 2 plastic cap pieces to the pool that are dented from the deck board installation that I am willing to have replaced once the job was completed.

Upon the customers request I sent an up to date invoice of where the bill stands for labor and materials at this time. I am willing to refund the balance of what is left over, as the customer said she would have someone else install a rail. The customer does not agree with my numbers and wants more back than I can give her.

As far as any photos of the work or property, Im unaware of them being used on social media. I will look into this and make sure they are removed.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

    1. Garbage was disposed under my deck and I was told they were hauling all garbage away but instead staff threw nail containers, water bottles, and wood pieces that were cut.

    2. Fence is more than just scratched, it is bent and damaged as you can see in the photo and should have never been installed.

    3. What I am being charged for is including material they took away and I do not think I should be paying for their mistake as I sent photos of what I was looking for and they said they could do it but then use thinner railing than what I showed them.

    4. There are still screws and sharp metal on fencing that is a danger for anyone in my pool area but company says this is safe and it is not. Customer did not get to decide the material fencing I was shown a black and white image and it did not say aluminum or iron or wood I only found out when they installed the fencing. I was told by ****** from the company that this material that was installed was definitely unacceptable and he did not realize how fragile it was and that they would fix it but came back with same material and yes I declined because I saw how it came the first time.

    5. There are still huge holes in my yard that they mentioned would be filled in as it would look like no one was here and removed things but instead they stuck cement in the holes

    6. Pricing for materials and labor is very incorrect be used they only came out 3 to 5 hours at a time when they wanted to as if we were just a side job being paid under the table.

    7. Damaged pool caps shouldn't have to wait to be replaced until deck is finished that should have been done before fall because of closing the pool we do not have access to the damaged caps til summer now. Customer was told that the pool company could not get non damaged pieces which I have text regarding this refusal of full fixing their damage and pool is brand new.

    8. Company used Prism Fencing in York which has many law suits against them and I feel GoodDeihls should hve looked into this before using this company because they are known for damaged prod he it can be found in public records

    Regards,

Image attached is a current photo of my backyard that is still being used on social media to advertise their company. This was a screenshot from 1/8/24 as it has not been removed as asked due to false advertisement. I do not agree with photos being used of my property if the work is not done correctly without damage and now not being complete unless I pay additional fees to have their errors fixed.

I do not feel that customers should be paying more money for mistakes a company as made.
