      I am extremely disappointed with how Shipley Energy handled a recent, massive rate hikeespecially given their failure to properly notify me of the change and their unwillingness to provide any assistance after the fact.I had been a customer of ******************** for several years after switching from my utility (The Illuminating Company) to avoid rising rates. Things were fine until March 2025, when I was shocked to receive a bill totaling $854, billed at $0.11/kWhnearly double what I wouldve paid with the utility, which is currently at $0.0699/kWh.After contacting Shipley, I learned that they had sent a single email in November 2024 about a rate increase beginning February 2025. I completely missed that one emailno additional reminders were sent, no letters, no calls, nothing. Given how significant the increase was and how critical electricity costs are to households, a single email buried months in advance is inexcusable.I immediately asked for help or a partial credit, especially since Im a single-income household supporting a child, and they flat-out refused. They would not even offer a good faith gesture, despite me being a long-time customer who was unaware of the change simply due to a lack of ongoing communication.I have since switched back to the standard utility supply, but the change wont take effect until May, so Im now likely facing another massive bill for Aprilthrough no fault of my own.This entire experience has felt like a bait-and-switch: low rates up front, and then a quiet rate ***** with no real warning. The way Shipley handled thisrefusing to take any accountability or offer assistanceshows a complete lack of care for the financial wellbeing of their customers.I hope that someone at ******************** will step up, take responsibility, and offer at least a partial refund or credit to resolve this in good faith.

      I cant say enough good things about Shipley Energy in ****, **! From start to finish, they provided an exceptional experience that exceeded every expectation. The technician who came out was incredibly professional, and he was on time, courteous, and even took extra care to clean up after finishing the job.Its so refreshing to work with a company that genuinely cares about its customers.       Shipley Energy is my electricity supplier in **. Apparently, they dropped me from my contract with them without notifying me. My electricity rate was moved to **** which caused my bill to sky-rocket. I got NOTHING from them saying it was ending.

      I was a vendor at the York fair and was told Shipley was the Exclusive and sole provider of propane at the fair. They contacted me to setup propane service for the ten days for the fair. From all the paper work and the employees that I spoke with they said Shipley was the only company supplying propane to the fair. I was charged 100 dollars for the tank rental and almost 5 dollars a gallon for propane, which is double the price that's listed on their website today. I paid 600 dollars in total for the propane services. At the end of the fair I had 30 gallons or a little more left and wanted to get credit for the remaining propane and they told me I couldn't get my money back. They took the propane tank and the propane I paid for and won't give me credit for the extra propane left in the tank. They said if I was anywhere else but the York fair that I would get credit but because I was there I wouldn't get any credit. They also led me to believe that I couldn't bring my own tanks and that all propane would be supplied by them. They had the terms exclusive provider and sole provider on the paperwork. They are just going to resell the propane that I left to someone else and get their money a second time for the same propane. Complete money grab

      This company left me without heat for ten days last Christmas (2022) because they failed to properly diagnose a leak in an outside propane line. They told me the leak was inside the house and after a plumber tried to find it inside for 7 hours, they had to come back and actually find it. Then it took several days for them to come back and actually fix it. We had seven space heaters going and pipes still froze. Then December 18, 2023 we returned from a trip to find our house reeking of propane gas. I called the company and they came and did a leak test and charged me $250.95 without telling me up front that I would be charged for a safety check. In addition the problem ended up being caused by them filling the propane tanks while we were away. When I called about the smell, they did not tell me that propane had been delivered that could have been the source of the problem. Totally unacceptable. Will find a more reputable company that cares about my safety.

      We just got charged $1300 for 200 gallons of heating oil from this business 2 weeks ago. This was the bill sent to a 73 year old women. This looks out of bounds. Is there something that can be done. She already called about it and they said it was correct. $6.50 per gallon!! Is this price gouging?
