    I am 72, living on social security with cancer and had a kidney removed last summer. Unable to tend to my garden last summer, I was looking forward to butterflies and hummingbirds. I had been buying from Mussig Greenhouse for 10 years despite living 15 miles away in my effort to support small businesses.During the last two weeks of May I made 5 trips of 30 miles roundtrip to purchase 36 perennials.I purchased 24 Buddleia davidii plants (butterfly bushes) along with 12 other perennials during these visits.I purchased 6 each of the color varieties pink/red, white, sky blue, and purple. All were placed on my front deck in the sunlight and watered as needed. Within days it became apparent that the six sky blue and six whites were not doing as well as the 12 others. This despite exact same watering and sunlight as the purples and reds.Thinking I should t get these out of their containers I planted 6 in a flower bed, 3 in a large pot and nursed 3 still in original pots. Less than 2 weeks later all 12 are dried up sticks with brown leaves. The other 12 are hopefully thriving as I gave 8 out as remembrances at my daughter funeral as remembrances May 31.On 6/4 I called website phone number asking to speak to owner.Supposed owner (he would not identify himself) upon hearing I was calling about dying flowers immediately blurted out "NO WARRANTY ON PLANTS". and said this to every question I asked.I seen this as not going anywhere and that an owner would not be treating customer like this Hours later I called back thinking I would get someone else. No such luck, man would not identify himself. Conversation went much as the time before. It seemed only words he knew were "NO WARRANTY ON PLANTS". (I heard again at least 5 more tines). I finally said you have very poor customer service. He then offered to SELL me replacements at half price. Sorry but spending $18 total per flower for what I could have purchased at Lowes for $9 is not an option.Refund is only fair

    In response to perennials.

    The customer called on 6/4/25 asking about our guarantee and warranty policies that were on plants purchased a few weeks prior.  I replied "there is no guarantee or warranty on plants." the customer ended the call.

    A few hours later the customer called again asking about our guarantee or warranty, I replied again, "there is no guarantee or warranty on plants."  I explained to him that the plants were under his care and that I would give him 50% off of the plants for replacement.

    There is signage in the store at the check out and on each sales receipt that states "no guarantees on annuals, perennials, or vegetables, roses, herbs, tropicals, or sale items."

    Thank you for your support of a small business, our policies can't compare to the big box stores.
