      My account has been violated with fees after the checkbook order was delayed and then charged against a low balance triggering almost $100 in fees. Instead of the bank contacting me to inform me to make a deposit as to not trigger any NSF fees, instead the bank ran the checkbook charge knowing the low balance would not cover the transaction in order to ****** fees (very similar practices alleged in the class action suit against ******* bank). I am beyond disappointed that this bank engages in fee traps and does not hold itself to a higher standard of customer service. This happenstance is in bad faith and would have been avoided if the bank had alerted me that the checkbook charge was going to process and to make a deposit which I would have then when I reached out the bank said I was out of luck- what kind of bank holds their customers accounts hostage with unwarranted fees? There is nothing in the agreement that permits the bank to charge fees on a checkbook order nor did ******* warn me during my order otherwise I would have NEVER ordered the checks!!!!

      We apologize that this occurred on your account.  We use a 3rd party company to order our checks and the fee came from them and not BankNewport.  We will take responsibility for our vendor and reverse all the fees that were charged.  You will see all the charges waived on the account as of today.
