    I used to be a tenant in Room 203. However, when I moved out, I did not receive my security deposit within 20 days. The lease office claims they mailed the check on July 5th, but they are unwilling to provide shipment information to prove it. I am requesting that they provide the shipment information.

    My daughter graduated from college and was looking for an apartment in **********, ** where she found work. She applied for a 1 Br at Emblem 125 on or around August 11th. She needed a co-signer so my husband ********************* cosigned and sent bank statements, tax filings, and other documentation. My daughter was approved and a $500 holding fee was taken out of my bank account. A lease was supposed to be sent to sign immediately. I called numerous times and sent emails. I was told that the lease was coming. After no movement or a return email in over a week, I decided to take action. My daughter's short-term lease was ending in a day or two and I couldn't afford to put her up indefinitely in a hotel waiting for a lease from Emblem. I drove from *********, ** to ********** and found a rental within 2 days. She was able to move into her new rental in just 5 days after my arrival. I called and emailed Emblem to ask for a refund and to let them know my daughter found a new apartment. *********************************** finally responded on August 30th trying to convince me that a lease was coming and apologizing for the delay. I let her know that it was too late. I followed up with an email for the refund the following day and received a reply that it was confirmed that ******* was not taking the apartment. I emailed on September 2nd to ask when the refund will take place. I have not received a refund or a response since. I filed a complaint with my bank, but like me they are unable to speak to a representative from Emblem. Emblem 125 defrauded my daughter. They had no intention of leasing an apartment in the timeframe they quoted because they just posted three days ago on FB that the apartment building is now open. Her lease was supposed to be signed weeks ago with a 9/12 move-in date. Emblem is attempting to hold onto deposits indefinitely or until they are receiving revenue from their tenants. That is not standard business practices. I want my refund sent back immediately.
