To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred on March 16, 2024, at a bar and restaurant called Our Spot in *********, ************. Being from *************, I was unfamiliar with this establishment, as my girlfriend and I were simply looking for a place to eat. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we felt unwelcome, as if the staff did not want us there. Despite this, we proceeded to sit and order drinks. The server's demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive, marked by clear attitude while we were attempting to decide on our order. When it came time to present our IDs, I handed mine over without issue, and my girlfriend did the same. After reviewing our IDs, the server refused to serve us, citing that my girlfriends ID said Non-Operator ID. This was puzzling, as my girlfriend is of legal drinking age, and her ID is valid. The server went on to suggest that her ID was not acceptable, which felt unreasonable and discriminatory. This interaction left us feeling as though we were being profiled. Consequently, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. On our way out, the owner approached us and apologized for the servers behavior. While the apology was appreciated, it does not negate the experience or the sense of profiling we encountered. I strongly believe that my girlfriend and I were treated unfairly and discriminated against by this establishment. Such behavior is unacceptable and should be addressed to ensure no other patrons are subjected to a similar experience. I urge the appropriate authorities or organizations to investigate this incident and hold the business accountable for their actions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, ***** ******

My server remembers the incident and it's not as described by the person filing the complaint.  The gentlemen and his girlfriend came in to the restaurant and were asked for their ID to ensure they were of the proper age to order alcohol.  Standard procedure.  He had a valid ID on him, but she had no ID on her.  The server told them she would be happy to serve him an alcoholic drink but his girlfriend couldn't be served without a proper ID.  They left the restaurant and were gone approximately 15 minutes when they came back in.  My server has been a bartender and manager for over 20 years.  The lady gave her an ID she had never seen and it did not appear to be a proper ID.  The server said that she couldn't accept the ID.  The two patrons left the restaurant.  He came back in approximately five minutes later and started shouting and swearing throughout the restaurant and bar that we're a bunch of racists, etc.  He then told the server that he was going to come back and "**** her down".  Threatening her life.  Meanwhile there were around a half a dozen people of the same ethnicity happily enjoying their food and drinks.  They were all stunned at his actions and theatrics.  At no time have we ever discriminated against anybody.  All are welcome here.

Additionally, there was on off duty police officer in the restaurant who witnessed it all.  Because the server was threatened she called the police.  You can check the police records.  The police sat outside the restaurant for a couple of hours to ensure he didn't come back to hurt her.  The off duty policy officer stayed with her until closing to make sure she was safe when she left.
