On November 8th, 2022, Roger from Knight Electrical came to my place for I was doing an addition. He stated that my electrical was not proper and my circuits were over loaded. Roger had done work for me before. My contractor was on another job and "thought" I trusted Roger. So as we were talking about what was wrong, his workers cut and stripped all the wire out and took $725.00 worth of code compliant breakers. He replaced them with very cheap non compliant breakers. All was brand new and he knew that.
I agreed to have him "fix" the issue.
Also, because he had worked for me in the past, I had Puck lights that were defective and he took them out of my wood ceiling and stated he would replace.
Well, I did not know he took all of this from my property "Without my knowledge". He did however, come back twice once to fix an error for other stuff. He then "Up charged me" because one of his workers did not wire something correctly. I paid him an additional $2000.00 which he modified my check memo to say "change order" which it was not.
Anyway, I was upset at this and asked him to return the breakers or the $725.00 I paid for them. He said he would not. In addition, he would not come back and replace the puck lights so I now have holes in my ceiling. It is a wood ceiling so not so easy to work with.
Turns out, he was the one the overloaded the circuit and when my contractor came back and tried to run the chop saw, it arched, melted the wire, then pop the cheap breakers he put in.
I have spent thousands of dollars with other electricians to "fix" his mistakes. In fact, the work he did a few years back was overloaded as well with wires melted. I am lucky my house did not burn down.
I told him, all I want is the $725.00 worth of breakers to make my place code compliant and the two puck lights he took. BTW the reason I think he did not come back is he cut the wire to the puck light instead of unplugging.
I have emailed, called, messaged, he will not respond.

    Business Response

Client has provided inaccurate information.   We did not cause any issues at the property.  We repaired alot of items done by others before we took on the job.  The breakers removed were indeed defective and required replacing.   I informed her the job would cost more now, and she went ballistic about it.  Her and I would indeed have a drink together after working,  as we've known each other for 17 years.   We were told to not come back, so I've not been able to go and install the appropriate breakers.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

    Here is what he wrote:

Client has provided inaccurate information.   We did not cause any issues at the property. ***He overloaded the bedroom circuit had 16 items on the circuit and arched. Melted the wire because it was overloaded and the wire nuts were put on incorrectly. I have 3 witness to this issue.

.We repaired alot of items done by others before we took on the job. **This is incorrect, he stripped brand new wire out...........without MY permission, Re-wired and over loaded bedroom circuit, killed one switch, took out plugs I needed and rewired light switches in the wrong place. In fact, he took puck lights out of my ceiling and left me with a hole. I have sent you copies of everything.

The breakers removed were indeed defective and required replacing.   ** If indeed these brand new breakers were defective....all of them....why did he take them and replace them with Non-code cheap breakers?? Why did he not give me the opportunity to get them replaced??? And why, didn't he replace them to code?? Instead non code compliant breakers?? He scabbed my job.

I informed her the job would cost more now, and she went ballistic about it. **I was upset he upcharge me because I am old and not in good health. I was forced to retire. If you look at what I sent you before, I have emailed, texted, called and begged him to at least at least give me the breakers back and replace the puck lights that he took out of my ceiling.  He told me he would not. In fact, after doing a full inventory of my supplies I purchase much more is missing. I even contacted his business partner to have him do the right thing.

Her and I would indeed have a drink together after working,  as we've known each other for 17 years. **This is why he thought he could get by with this because I am old and he took advantage. I knew he had a ******** ******* but, when ** *** ******** ** ******** ** **** *** *** *** **** ** ** ********...I knew his ******** ******* was huge...again, I have witnesses.

We were told to not come back, so I've not been able to go and install the appropriate breakers.   **I have text messages stating he will not replace the breakers he took from me. In fact, he will not replace my puck lights either. That is theft. I should have called the police but never thought he would be so bad.

**The work he did for me three years ago, started a fire again overloaded circuits. It cost me thousands of dollars to fix HIS mistakes.

All I want is my breakers back or pay for new ones and replace my lights.

This guy is scary....not sure how he holds a license.

    Regards,

Please look for my responses **
