On 4/28/2023 I booked a hair appointment. When I went to book employee, ******** ******* on the Shear Vintage Salon website it said $90 for Cut and Color. I had to put my card on file. I went in to get the service done. After the appointment she charged me $170. I asked the salon and she referred me to ******** after 24 hours of trying to reach them. I also requested a phone call and instead received unprofessional text messages. They said ******** is booth rent so she is responsible for billing with her client. ******** told me it was a miscommunication on my end and that there would be no refund given. She said she didn’t know why prices were different on the website. It was falsely advertised. I think every business whether you are an independent contractor or not should know what’s advertised. I think either the salon or ******** owes me (the client) a refund for the falsely advertised service. Especially because the bill was charged after the service and agreed at $90 when booked online. No where said “starting at” NOR stated that “extra fees could be incurred” therefore, it was a shock that I received that charge, which was almost double what was advertised.

    Business Response

Responding to complaint. To my knowledge and the stylist who is an independent contractor, this matter was handled. I missed the first notice my apologies. I have attached the policies clearly stated on our website. Client had to see these to book the service. Stylist and client communicated after and to my understanding it was handled. Stylist explained why extra charges had accrued. Due to clients length and thickness of hair, multiple mixups were required. Understandably client saw a price when she booked and had her mind set was that would be the final price. Mistakes were made on both ends but nothing was done maliciously. Product is expensive. This has all been explained to client. Please let me know if anything else needs explained. We do not issue refunds.
