Ive been with Allstate and this agency since it started. They took over from another agent who retired. Until the last few months, Ive been extremely satisfied with their service. Sometimes bills pile up and one bill mistakenly gets unpaid. On at least two prior occasions the agency would call and tell me I needed to make a payment to avoid a cancellation. They even got me reinstated one time when I missed a payment date. Unfortunately, in recent months this has not been the case. I took a new job with many new responsibilities in the middle of August 2022. Somehow I failed to make my August premium payment which is less than $200. In the past I had childrens cars on my policy and my premium was much higher and of course the agency made much more money off of me. Now its just my wife and I are in our premium is less than $200 per month. After missing the August payment, I received nothing from Allstate in the mail nor did I receive a phone call from the agency that I was being canceled. I made my September payment in a timely manner and nothing on the website indicated that I had missed my August payment or owed more than one payment at that time. I became concerned when I went to make my October payment and saw that I only owed $30. I called the agency and discovered that my policy had been canceled because I had missed the August payment. I received no cancellation notice from Allstate, although online there is a letter of cancellation but it has no date on it and I did not receive it. I also did not receive any contact from the agency. This time, the agency claims that they contacted Allstate for reinstatement and Allstate turned me down. I am concerned that because my premium is much lower, Im not important to Allstate or to this agency. They have refused to return numerous phone calls over the last two weeks. I have emailed numerous times and Maybe heard back one time via email. I have asked that They call but no reply. I am reporting this to Insur. Comm.
