    Our Contract initiated with Modern Designs, LLC owner on 2/28/2023 for the following services; clean, caulk and paint 2000 Hardie board w/2 coats of **************** ******** Emerald paint. Repair garage door trim and install the new exterior garage door. Install and repair new soffit and/or fascia board where needed. We paid a $4,100 deposit on 2/28/2023 for work to begin on Monday, March 6, 2023; however, we received a text from the MD, LLC Owner stating that he had an emergency and would start on either, Tues. March 6 or Wed, March 8; there were no shows for the remainder of the week; had personal issues. MD, LLC Owner, showed up on Monday, March 13 and worked four hours and was sick from March 14-22. On Thursday, March 23, he started the repairs on the garage and worked on Sat, March 25 and not again until Friday March 31. Because of MD,LLC owner inability to complete the project and properly prep and clean the house, we asked for a refund on April 6. MD, LLC Owner, ask to give him a chance to get the work done and he worked April 11, 12, 13, 17, 18 and 20 and only offered a myriad of emergencies and excuses of why the project wasn’t completed. The MD, LLC Owner agreed that it was best for us to get someone else to complete the project and to deliver the refund and the wood to repair the soffit by Friday, May 12, 2023. We have not receive the refund nor the material for the soffit.

    I'm not sure what to say about this except we have already talked. They are being very unreasonable. I've tried to come to some kind of agreement but they want me to not be compensated for any work I have done. I was willing to let them out of my contract and we had an agreement kind of. And then I see they reported me to BBB. I'm no longer allowing them out of my contract. They gave me 4100.00 deposit. 1500 went to equipment rental 600 was house paint 300 was trim paint 300 was garage door trim materials 150 was caulking 200 was material to fix soffit. That comes to 3050.00 in materials and equipment. Which leaves 1050.  I finished a complete section two coats wall paint and three coats trim paint on back of house. I started painting fasia and soffit on main house and also washed house onces and then had to clean again as I went due to pollen.

    I am rejecting this response because: On May 4,  Modern Designs, LLC owner agreed to refund $1,100 and return of board for the suffit by Friday, May 5 or on the following Friday, May 12th.  Modern Designs, Owner was contacted Via Text Joseph on May 13, at 10:26 am  - Text sent:  Tyler you told me on last week Thursday, May 4th that you would deliver the soffit board and refund on Friday and if not Friday, that you will deliver by this weekend This weekend is almost over what time today should I expect delivery of the board and refund? Tyler’s response:  I’m in hospital with my heart. Been here since yesterday morning at 10a.m.  Romonia followed you with an email on May l6 for you to send the refund via Zelle.  We just want the refund and the material that you promised to returned. 

    You only worked a total of 4 days in March and a total of  6 days in April arriving midday and always having to leave because of sickness and personal issues.  You used our deposit to your advantage, you personally use the boom, that we paid for to work on your personal property versus washing our house.  The work you did was not satisfactory and while we have given you the benefit of the doubt you have made your money by overstating the cost of the supplies. You purchased a cheaper brand of paint for the windows, suffix and fascia boards.  We had to finish the repairs on the garage door  that was not adequately done and had to hire a professional contractor to pressure wash and complete the project.

    As a customer we should not have to pay for your mismanagement of our funds and your inability to manage your time on the job, poor  quality of work and all the excuses for not showing up.   As an ethical business owner you should absorb the cost of the boom, return the materials that you purchased to complete our project.

    Tyler was hired for a large job that he promised to have completed in 4 weeks. After days of him no showing, or when he did finally show up at 2pm to only work for an hour. He took 5 weeks to put up our fence and left our yard with a huge pile of trash we had to have removed. We decided to not have him complete the rest of the jobs and asked for our money back. After many excuses and then promises of giving us the money back he never did. We are out THOUSANDS of dollars that he stole from us! He is a liar and a thief!!

    Tyler J**** (Modern Designs) was recommended to me by **** ***** (******** Painters) to do some carpentry work to my front porch. The total cost to do the work was $760.00. Tyler said he needed $400.00 to buy the materials; which he did. When the work was completed, I would pay him the balance, which would be $360.00. He did about 80% of the work and would not come back to finish the job. I reached out to him via telephone and text messaging for him to come back and finish the job. Most of the time he would ignore my telephone calls and text messages. On the rare occasion that I did get in touch with him, he would give me lame excuses or would flat out lie to me that he would come back and finish the job. He recently told me via text messaging that he would come out on 8/22/2022 to finish the job. I reached out to him on 8/21/2022 to confirm that he was still coming out the next day to finish and he said he would be out there on 8/22/2022. He never showed up on 8/22/2022. When I reached out to him to find out why he didn't come out on8/22/2022, he said he would refund my money and return my materials that was purchased. As of now, I haven't received a refund or have my materials returned to me.
