I was walking down the street in Charleston and a girl offered me soap. After entering the store with my husband, Sarah, got a hold of me.. She offered many compliments and she is really good at selling. My husband was sitting there the entire time. She put a serum around our eyes and you feel it tightening. So I ended up buying $500 worth of products. Then she puts this red light wand on me...it is very relaxing and it did look like my face looked better on one side but she is also putting serum on as well. She said 3 or more times...you cannot get your money back for products but you can for the red light wand. We were there for 2 hours. She is a smoozer...kissing me on the cheek, telling me I'm a great person....taking pictures of us together. She stuffed the receipts in a box. She told me I had a warranty about the return and that warranty was money back in the first 3 months. When I got back to my place, there was not a warranty in my bag.. So I texted her and she said the customer service was on religious holiday and would send later. Before she could send it, we went back to the store asking for a refund of the wand. Sarah was not there but another girl in the shop called her and said she was on her way. We never saw her, so this guy, Tomas talked to us. At first he said you cant return this; it's been opened. I refuted that and then he said he could not return anything under $1000. I paid $4469 for this item. Then he gave me the customer service email. After getting home, Sarah sent me that warranty in an email. She knew we had been there so now the warranty changed. It said I must use it for 3 months and could not return the product until 1/03/25. She said I must take pictures during that time in the email. These are all lies. She told me 3x that I could return within in 3 months while sitting in her chair trying to sell me a product. I would never spend that kind of money without a return in place. This is complete fraud. Everthing they say changes.

Be very careful. A very handsome young man lured me in for soap sample and need to rap in plastic. While stepping inside, a smooth, aggressive saleswoman took over and applied eye cream on one eye and used a fan to dry the product. To make a long story short, this woman was slick with her presentation. She complimented me and tried to sell me thousands of dollars of cosmetic products comparing them to surgery. Yes, I’m embarrassed about being scammed. I’m grateful I’m only out $200, but still could kick myself. I had NO intention to purchase this product which on the way home, peeled off around my eyes making it look like my skin was peeling. I was just visiting the city market while killing time before dropping my son off at the airport. This situation has caused me to hesitate returning to Charleston ever again. I can’t believe this business is allowed to remain open.

I was on vacation in Charleston last week. I was drawn into the store (more like lured) with offer of free soap samples.

Once in the store it was clear the salespeople were more interested in selling me something expensive rather than what I might have been interested in buying.

The salespeople were so slick I wasn’t thinking clearly and would never have spent that much money in other circumstances.

The salespeople worked as a team and in hindsight I was taken advantage of. My trust and the honesty of the salespeople was violated.

I would urge anyone to stay away from these stores-I think there are several of them in the area. I wish I would have seen the other complaints similar to mine before going into the store. If I had seen them I never would have gone in.

      This entire operation is fradulent.
They post a person at the storefront and lure you in with free samples. Once they get you in they sit you down and let you try a wrinkle filler. After that they use a red light / blue light machine on you and convince you that you need it.
They prey on older, rich women traveling in Charleston. They offer to ship you the product so that by the time you get home, you can’t return it.
My mother foolishly spent $9,000. $1,000 on creams and $8,000 at an at home laser. They loaded her up with free samples.
Two hours within making the purchase, she realized her mistake and tried to return all the items which were unopened and unused. The owner told us not a problem but we had to wait 24 hours because it was a medical device. We were promised to be contacted shortly.
I returned to the store the next morning. I was told he was just waiting to hear back from the company and he would text me immediately.
After doing some research, this company has at least three different names (Gallery42 - House of Brands, Rachel Best Soap, Shirt Off Your Back) and many different locations. The receipt says “Charleston” and was not itemized. They do not have a website or a location on Google maps. We found other complaints about similar scams with this company.
We went back and forth through emails with no relevant information. I returned to the store for a third time. This time with the products. I argued for over an hour with the women in the store. I was told over and over again that they couldn’t issue me a refund. “They didn’t know how.” I finally was successful when I called the credit card company and the police at the same time. They instantly issued us a refund.
They gaslight and lie to you, hoping you’ll give up or have to leave town.
All the workers are involved but Tony and Tomas are the worst. I have picture and emails to prove all of this. Stay away from these people!
