I found a shih tzu on a busy road in my neighborhood. (Sun,10/13,about 8AM).Posted on PawBooste,as found. Then, I searched for no kill shelters, emailed Pawmetto LL, took dog there (Mon, 12PM,10/16) had to pay 130.00, I told the staff(Tai) I had posters out looking for the owner, I would be in touch. Mon evening around 8PM, the owner contacted me, I immediately sent a text to Tai, the staff member I left the shih Tzu with. It had only been about 7 hours since I had left the dog, yet she told the owner of the shih tzu, that it was in a foster home. It had only been about 7 hours since I dropped the dog off.
Here it is 8 days later and Pawmetto will not let the owner or me see the shih Tzu.I want answers about the dog, and why it's been 8 days and the owner still has not seen her dog. I tried to shorten the story down, there is more, but this is a start. One staffer (Tai)said it was in foster and later in the week I talked with another staffer(Sharon)I asked her if the shih tzu I dropped off was still alive...Sharon said yes, it was happy, playing, and very friendly. How would Sharon know that info, if the dog was in a foster home, and not at Pawmetto LL. Something is just not clicking, as to why PLL will not let the owner reunite with her baby. Pawmetto LL is demanding the shih tzu get spayed, and PawmettoLL will not even give the owner a surgery date, or like I said let her see the dog before surgery. It's been 8 days, I just want answers, cause something seems OFF, in my opinion. I feel responsible cause I trusted this place to care for the dog until the owner was found.

Ms. ******, who was the finder, relinquished all responsibilities with
the dog when she turned the dog over to Pawmetto Lifeline.  Yet, she
continues to question our operations and accuses our staff of being dishonest.  She has
stated that she felt a darkness when she entered our building and as late as
Friday, she reached out to say, “Things
    come to her from God.”

We know the status of this shih tzu because we manage our foster
homes, and we get updates on all of our animals.  We
immediately try to put all of our animals in a foster home, so they do not have
to live in a stainless-steel kennel.  Plus, this shih tzu is older and has
not seen a vet in over 4 years so she would have a compromised immune system
due to the lack of vaccines and exposure to other dogs.  The dog by law has to be spayed based on the
City/County ordinance.   The spay will happen as quickly as is
possible as the dog is being worked into our surgical schedule.  With the
current vet shortage there is a waiting list for surgery.

Ms. ****** has been asked not to reach out to Pawmetto Lifeline
anymore and to trust that we love animals, and we are taking very good care of
this dog and working directly with the family that owns this dog.

We are becoming concerned about Ms. ******’ stability and again we ask that she let us conduct our mission without constant
interruptions or distractions. The $130 donation supports the cost of care for this dog and is only a small portion of the expense.  Our staff has done their best to explain the process to Ms. ******.  She should no longer be involved.  We are working directly with the family that will pick the dog up post-surgery.
