January after several phone call attempts, I mailed a letter to 201 Columbia mall blvd with my contact information and electricity bill. January 16th I received a text from Ms. Leah A******* to schedule a call. I called Ms. A******* on the 17th and completed the phone portion for assistance and scheduled an in person appointment for the 21st. I emailed all required documents. On the 21st, offices were closing early due to a snow storm so a phone interview was supposed to take place. I was text latter stating after entering my information, I was above income limits for assistance. I was having surgery the next day so I just responded ok and thank you. Mrs. A******* was aware of my surgery the following day but didn’t mention I may qualify while out of work. On the 29th Ms. A******* text me stating there was additional funding for people a little over income like myself and gave me another office to contact. She stated this was my local office. After several attempts, I visited that office and was given a paper with time to call. I ask the clerk if someone would answer, she said I’d have to keep calling because so many are in need. I just went through surgery and am frustrated I’m having to go through all of this. People donate to these agencies so they can get help and this is how we are treated!
