      Business refused to honor a valid, legally binding gift certificate with no expiration date based solely on their inability to locate a purchase record. Certificate has an issue number and has company name and logo on it.

      Dear Ms. ***,
      We would like to express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused regarding your complaint to the BBB over the $20 gift certificate.  We understand your frustration and disappointment with our inability to honor the gift certificate in question.

      After investigating the matter, we found that the certificate presented was invalid and was not in your name.  We were unable to pull up any proof of purchase or certificate in your name. Please understand that our system operates with plastic gift cards and has done so since 2017.

      When you brought the gift certificate into the store, you mentioned to the associate that you found it in the back of an old desk drawer while cleaning it out. We have a picture of the certificate and also a picture of our gift cards that are used in the company for reference if that will be helpful.  

      We value all of our customers and their loyalty to our company and would like to offer you a $20 gift card as a gesture of goodwill. We hope this gesture will help to resolve the matter and continue a relationship with you.
