    I needed mom removed from my attic so I was comparing charges for this job. Ted from Biotek quoted me the best price of 825. Three days later he was at my house checking things out and collected the 825.
    Right after he received the money he then began breaking down additional charges to me. We argued about that. I requested my money back and he told me that I could only get half of it back. He has not contacted me since. When I did reach him he hung up on me. I learn that he wanted an additional fifteen hundred from me. With a payment of half of that before the work was to be done.
    All this money, not product or service. Shamefully I realized I had been scammed.

    Ms. M******: I am sorry that you feel this way. I personally spoke with you and your daughter a few days ago to clarify the misunderstanding. When you contacted our office in January regarding potential mold at your home, you spoke with Ted, who responded to all of your questions and also set up an appointment to do an analysis of your home. At that time, it was explained that there would be a fee of $825. BioTek's policy for the 17 years we've been in business is to charge a fee for an Analysis. It is also our policy to provide that information to the customer upfront, prior to any inspection or analysis. You were aware of that prior to Ted coming to your home. You were also told that half of that fee would be applied toward future services. Your analysis was done on January 24, 2023. The same day your payment was taken, you were sent a receipt for the analysis, which you did say you received and read. Ted also prepared a Scope of Work to detail the remediation process for your home. You explained that you wanted the minimum he could do. He put it together and sent it to you and you contacted the office on February 15, 2023, asking when you were on the schedule. I explained that once we received a down payment based on the Scope of Work, our team would contact you to schedule at your convenience. You said you wanted someone there in the next two days. Unfortunately, I explained that would not be possible. Then you asked why you had to pay another $1,500? I personally explained everything written here to both you and your daughter. You said you wanted your money back. I explained that what you paid was for the initial inspection and analysis. After we hung up, your daughter called back and I explained the entirety again to her, she understood, or said she did, and asked when we could get you on the schedule. I told her that I would have Ted contact her as soon as he was available and get it scheduled. She was very satisfied with that, and so were you. About 10 minutes later, you again called and said you wanted a refund. I told you that I thought we had handled this and we were going to get you on schedule. I had even told you that if money was an issue, we were more that willing to work with you on payment arrangements. You said you wanted your money back. This call was on February 15, more than 2 weeks after your initial analysis. When you again contacted BioTek, shortly after, I explained that there was a death in the family and I would have someone contact you as soon as possible. Ted responded by email. I am so sorry that there is such a miscommunication and would like to remedy that. Our paperwork does state how payment is made and on what schedule. This was explained to both you and your daughter. BioTek has been in business since 2007, we have served over 2000 satisfied customers. We have an A+ Rating with the BBB, and Angi's List Super Service Award (9 years). Our technician's are IICRC Certified and our Warranty is not matched by any other company. I promise you, there is no scam involved. As I told you, BioTek also provides the only 30 year Warranty in the industry to further protect our customers. We are more than willing to assist in whatever capacity we can.
