Rytech is a company that my father and I hired in August 2023 to pack our belongs and have these items stored at their facility while our condo was going through a demo and remodel due to water damaged that was filled with our Insurance and HOA. Once the construction was completed I scheduled Rytech to bring back our home goods on May 3rd 2024. Tracy Miller our pack out manager was notified May 6th that many items were missing. I have provided a list of those items and Rytech has acknowledged that these items are indeed missing. I was asked to provide receipts for the missing items, I'm not able to do as these were purchase 5-6 years ago. I did provide the website to where 4 of my rugs were purchased to show like items and a close dollar amount.

I have been in constant communication with the Rytech team and I cannot get anyone to call me or respond to my emails. I have been promised that I would hear from upper management/supervisor for 4 weeks and still no one has called or emailed me. As of 5-30-2024 I have called the corporate office in Georgia and filed a complaint. The itemized list of items missing are to the tune of $1600.00.

I'm not asking for anything that we are not entitled to as our items were lost and have not been returned to us.

I have the email chain between Tracy Miller and myself from the beginning. I'm giving Rytech until the end of the business day tomorrow 5-31-2004 to acknowledge my claim (*********) or I will retain an attorney.

Rytech has handled my claim completely unprofessional and I'm at the end of my rope with getting the run a round with who and when someone will contact me to discuss our missing items.

I'm looking to receive $1600.00 for the missing items

On September 12, Clint G******** with Rytech told me he would send someone to do the portion of the work that my insurance approved: demo of the base of one kitchen cabinet, so that the plumber could see under it and make an assessment. I am willing to pay for that work. A handyman would charge $50 to do that. However, on September 15, two guys from Rytech showed up, and then two more, and finally two more so a crew of six took over my house. When I told them I did not want them to do any more work beyond just tearing out the bottom of one cabinet, they told me they were talking to my insurance adjuster, and the claim had been approved. They told me they had to start mitigating right away, and not to worry, because they already had permission from my insurance. I told them it was OK to do what insurance had already approved, but as far as I knew, insurance only approved tearing out the bottom of one cabinet. I told them not to do any more work without giving me an estimate first. They hung out at my house, charging their phones in my outlets, telling me I had a dead and rotten animal in my crawlspace (actually a piece of carpet), talking to their other customers. I found out later that day, that Rytech lied to me about having permission from my insurance to start mitigation. My insurance did not cover mitigation. It only approved tearing out the bottom of one cabinet. The next morning when I realized Rytech had conned me, September 16, I fired Rytech and got them to remove their mitigation equipment from my home. I am not willing to pay for the $1,536.90 of unwanted and overpriced work that they did under false pretenses saying that they knew better than I did what my insurance would pay for. (Padded invoice of $1586.90 attached - $50 I am willing to pay for work covered by insurance that is part of my deductible = $1,536.90 of work I asked 6 strangers in my home not to do but they outnumbered me and frightened me and made me think they knew more than me.)

This complaint should be filed against the correct company, not the corporate office.
The company that serviced this claim is Rytech of the Midlands. I will forward the complaint to the owner of that location.

      Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/10/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I filed against Rytech of the Midlands because that is the franchise that came out to my house.

I paid the invoice that came from the corporate office, and I am asking for a billing adjustment from the corporate office.

A corporate shell game should not be used to prevent BBB complaints.

      Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/10/12) */
      Ms. ****,
This is not a corporate shell game. We invoice on behalf of all our franchisees. Any adjustments must be approved by the owners of that franchise. The owners of Rytech of the Midlands is Brian L***** and Anthony C*****.
They informed me they do not have a BBB account. You can contact them directly to discuss an adjustment.
If you'd like to speak to our VP of Operations his name is Ben T******* and you can reach him at 800-865-8787.

I am asking for a billing adjustment.

The corporate office does the billing.

I'm not going to play a corporate shell game with fly by night franchisees who are hiding from the BBB.
