      The young man who came out to give us an estimate on new roof, didn't get on the roof. He didn't have a ladder on his truck. He was much too interested in the construction aspect, if we needed any of that kind of work done. Then it took him several days to let us know what the estimate was. We were not impressed and did not choose this company.

      HK Construction & Service, specifically Sam H*****, provided me the best experience I have ever had with any contractor. I have over 5 years of personal experience with residential framing and have worked with hundreds of contractors and he is simply the best I have ever encountered.
      For some context - my wife and I were under contract to sell our home and had agreed to replace the roof for the buyers. We had been working with a different contractor that the buyers preferred who lost my trust, and I needed to find somebody who could come out and provide a quote and guarantee they could complete the work before our closing date of Nov 30th.
      I contacted Sam for the first time on November 15th at 6:25pm. The next morning he was at my house inspecting the roof. At this point, my insurance company had agreed to pay out less than $1000 for a repair of ~75 shingles. Sam was knowledgeable of their own written policies and came off of my roof telling me he thinks he could get additional coverage. By the evening of the 16th I had a quote in hand, and Sam had emailed my adjuster (with my copied on) with a detailed review w/ pictures of why their initial response of a repair was going to cause additional damage and break their own policy for coverage. Sam went above and beyond and was able to get a crew to replace my roof even with Thanksgiving falling between my initial contact with him and our closing date.
      Sam was on site each day personally assisting with the work and walking with a magnet to collect stray nails and debris. He was also an extremely good communicator and responsive whenever I needed anything.
      My wife and I had assumed that insurance would deny additional coverage, but because of Sam's email they ended up fully covering the replacement of the roof. I cannot express how thankful we are to Sam H***** and how he went above and beyond to assist our family during a stressful time of transition.
