    June 11th I paid $250.00 for what I was told was a new **** canopy and it was not new. I have been trying to contact the owner of the company and he refuses to return my calls.

    We used this company for a party on June 15th. Due to a number of issues on that date, the owner of the company called the following week and said he would refund a portion of our payment (refund amount of approximately $450). The issue is not what happened on June 15th as they owned up to their mistakes and offered us a partial refund. The issue is that we have waited over two months for a refund check. I did not follow up until July 22nd. On that date, someone immediately replied stating, "I will resend in the am with a tracking number." I called this month (August) after it still had not arrived and was told by H. that she had spoken with the owner who apologized and that she would return my call with the tracking number. I never heard back. I again emailed and texted a respectful inquiry without any reply. I truly hate to file with the BBB - and as I told them have not even left a bad review - but don't know what else to do at this point. We would like the funds we were promised, and hope others can avoid the issues we have had. They have been polite throughout our communication and owned up to their mistakes from the party with the refund offer, so we cannot understand what has happened over the last two and half months.     Created an order with this party business. Order #***** on 08/18/2023. I have the confirmation email and contract. I cancelled the order well within the guideline on 09/28/2023. The event was set for 03/22/24. I cancelled within the allotted time. A person with the name on my receipt ******** charged the $86.88 deposit and was told I would get a refund in the mail. I called 3+ times and kept getting the run around. Stating it would be sent, they forgot. I sent an email to them recently demanding the refund. The owner emailed and said staff had been fired and he would send my refund out that day. (12/14/23) Again, I have this email. I followed up with the FINAL attempt yesterday 12/26/23 and informed him I demanded the refund, and I would be contacting the BBB. The owner replied their business had a fire and they lost everything. I emailed back and no response. I also can't locate record of the fire. This is not proper business handling.

    The owner of the company did reach out and paid me today the money he owed. 

    What step do I take next? Since he paid.
