We have a contract with that required the building of an addition to out house. The contractor has not come to the house now in over 4 months had their lack of communication and no sign of a completion date has created an issue with trust and our patience is worn out. There have been multiple discussion with promises they will show up an complete the work and then they no show and there is no rescheduling of the work. They have request and received the lions share of the funds for the project and we had to come out of pocket for things that were built into the contract due to their self admission that they spent the money that they were supposed to set aside for the materials and subcontract work to complete the job. They are now threating to abandon the contract and leave us to pay for the remaining items to complete the job. We have already gone above and beyond to try and work with them, we bought the cabinets for the laundry room and the vanity for the bathroom and installed them for them. They agreed to pay us the cost for those and also for the painting. This would eat up any of the remaining profits that they would have coming. Right now the shower in the bathroom need to be completed and the glass doors ordered and installed. Plumbing for it needs complete, The siding and eaves need to be completed as well as the rain is leaking into the rooms. We believe the siding would remedy this issue.

    To whom it may concern,

I have been in contact with ***** about this complaint. We have had several issues arise on our end at no fault to the homeowner or clients we are currently working for. Unfortunately in August our work vehicle and every one of our tools were stolen (police report was made) which put a huge burden on us trying to finish our current jobs. We absolutely have no intention of not finishing the job, and has just taken a lot longer than expected due to that circumstance along with illnesses and 3 deaths in our family during this time. We are currently working with ***** and **** to remedy the situation as soon as possible. I do still have an issue with the videos and posts made on ******** about my business, me personally and my husband, and my other business being brought into this situation due to absolute lies and phone calls being made to my clients by a bitter ex wife and her husband to my clients which is causing more issues that is holding up progress on my jobs. ***** received one of these calls filled with complete lies about my business and personal life which is causing a lot of stress and keeping us from moving forward as we should be able to. I am also handling that situation.
I will discuss balance owed on job and other contract issues that I believe is a misunderstanding on both ends. The only thing we have left to complete is outside siding. Tile in shower and plumbing final, then a final check to fix or adjust minor issues.

    Business Response

    Good afternoon,

I am responding back to the rejection of my first answer regarding this matter. As I stated in the first response, I have absolutely no intention of abandoning the job. I will be completing the job for **** and *****. My husband, Dewayne, was taken back by the videos and posts made on ******** slandering our business and our name. I spoke with ***** on January 23rd and made arrangements to go back out and complete the job the week of January 30th. On January 25th while at a school function I was made aware of videos and posts that were made against not only our name, our remodeling business, but also another business I have that has nothing to do with remodeling or **** and *****. The videos stated that they hardly ever saw Dewayne out there working, how poor the work is that we did so far, and what all they had to do themselves which is not facts. I will agree it is taking much longer than expected due to health and issues with all of our equipment being stolen along with our work vehicle. That unfortunately has taken some time to recover from and get back to our job. The videos were viewed by more than 1000 people and shared repeatedly. I think it definitely crossed the line when you name a business that has nothing to do with you or the contract we have with **** and *****. These videos stayed posted for days even after making arrangements with ***** to come out on the 30th and was never even mentioned on the 2 hour phone call I had with her on January 23rd and we’re still there on Jan 25th when I was made aware. The videos and posts  certainly made it seem that we stole $120,000 from them and left. Not the case at all. This has caused a lot of issues on my end and I am in the process of trying to fix it. Even after that I am still attempting to find a solution to all this. We are in the process now of replacing walkboards and ladders needed to complete the project, yes it’s minimal tools needed, but replacing every tool piece by piece is a process and very costly.
My intention is to come back out on March 1st to put up the siding, finish the tile shower and plumbing and do a final walkthrough to complete little things. That should take approximately 10 days at the most. Then I will setup final inspection by county to complete the project. I hope to be able to resolve this issue with **** and ***** and want them to be happy with the work. If we can agree on this timeline and expected start and completion date then we will move forward with the completion of the job.

    Thank you,

    Misty M****

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We will work with them to start the work on the 1st of March and there is a firm 10 March completion date unless unforeseen situations arise. In the meantime, we are requesting a complete breakdown of the job costs sheets and obligations so that we can compile all our receipts and compare them against what has been spent to ensure that the final payment discussion everyone is aware of the cost and what's owed to prevent delays to both parties. We just want them to understand 17 months on a job that was supposed to be complete in a short period and continually extended cannot be accepted moving forward. We will continue to work with the lawyer until work is finished.
    Sincerely,
